Acrylic on canvas

This is one of those paintings that had a long pause between starting and finishing it. I liked some of the unfinished elements, so I took a break from working on it, leaving it in my dining room where I could see it every day. Many months later, I was ready fix areas that I wanted to change. But, I still liked some of those loose, unfinished parts, so I left them as they were, and now it feels done. by @maizconnolly

Pianos on State attracts many musicians and this year we are lucky to have @juliorconnolly and @mynew_mistake performing for us on Oct 10th at 4pm. Location TBA.

Julio Connolly & Abi are 17-years-old musicians who live in Los Angeles, California where they are both high school seniors. Julio has played the piano for four years, and also plays guitar and bass. Abi sings, plays guitar, piano, violin, and bass, and writes and performs original songs at venues across Los Angeles. They are both drawn to classic and indie rock and folk music, and are inspired by the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Bob Dylan. They have been playing, writing, and performing together for three years.

Julio looks forward to Pianos on State in Santa Barbara every year, where he enjoys visiting his grandparents, Mort and Liz Maizlish. This is their first performance in Santa Barbara.

For more information about upcoming performances during Pianos on State visit pianosonstate.com/performances.
