This was my daughter’s crib.
The place where she was supposed to sleep safely.

Now it looks like this.

A crib is meant to hold dreams, warmth and safety
not dust, broken wood and memories of fear.

The first photo is from today.
The second one was our “home” a few months ago.
The third one shows how Mira lived back then, under pieces of plastic.
The last two are from our new apartment.

For months, we had no real tent, just plastic sheets I tied together the best I could.
In summer, it was like an oven.
In winter, the cold went straight through us.
Mira even got frostbite on her fingers.

I wanted to share more photos from that time,
but my wife’s phone was destroyed during the war.
This is the only one we managed to save.

Today, it may not look perfect to you.
We still sleep on the floor, and everything is very simple.
But for us, it’s incredible.
We finally have walls, a roof, and windows we can repair to keep the warmth inside.
We can sleep safely, and Myra can play and draw again.

Please remember that here in Gaza, everything is still destroyed.
There are no jobs, no income, no way to rebuild without your help.
We depend completely on your support.
If it stops, we could end up again where we once were.
And that’s something we never want to live again. by @majdraed5

This is Mira, 3 years old, helping her mama wash the clothes by hand.
In Gaza, there is no electricity, no machines , every task becomes a long, exhausting effort. But children still bring light where everything feels heavy.
Mira doesn’t know she is doing something that no child her age should have to do. She just knows she wants to help.
Their strength is quiet, their love is constant.

Three years have passed and we are still trying to survive. We are living in extremely difficult conditions, perhaps unimaginable, most notably fear, starvation, inflation, continuous displacement, disease, and suffering while lighting fires, cooking with firewood, and in complete darkness..Sleeping on the ground... living in the open air and tents... 13 members of my family are holding on and trying to survive these horrors. Thank you to everyone who supported us when we first contacted you almost a year ago. Thank you to everyone who has embraced my family during this time..To those who helped us stay together, provided us with a better place to live, and moved us from the tent to a small apartment where we try to live together with love and alleviate each other's fear and suffering, your continued support for my family is very important to us.

Trois ans ont passé et nous luttons toujours pour survivre. Nous vivons dans des conditions extrêmement difficiles, peut-être inimaginables, marquées notamment par la peur, la faim, l'inflation, les déplacements constants, la maladie et la souffrance. Nous devons allumer des feux, cuisiner au bois et vivre dans l'obscurité la plus totale. Nous dormons à même le sol, vivons à la belle étoile et sous des tentes. Treize membres de ma famille s'accrochent et tentent de survivre à ces horreurs. Merci à tous ceux qui nous ont soutenus lorsque nous vous avons contactés pour la première fois il y a près d'un an. Merci à tous ceux qui ont été là pour ma famille pendant cette période. À ceux qui nous ont aidés à rester unis, qui nous ont offert un logement décent et qui nous ont permis de quitter la tente pour un petit appartement où nous essayons de vivre ensemble avec amour et de nous réconforter mutuellement, votre soutien indéfectible est précieux pour ma famille. by @majdraed5

As if warmth and loved ones had never been.
Spare your hands, for there is no one inside,
Hope for no reply—for the people of love are gone.
And have mercy on the house… do not awaken its grief,
For homes have souls, just as people do.

My house was razed to the ground. I took this video almost a year ago. My house was first burned, then partially destroyed, and then months ago it was completely destroyed and occupied. taken in Gaza by @majdraed5
