Earthman: How Tom Roche Built Man & Machine
Tom Roche has spent years building a catalogue of songs under the name Man & Machine, long before he had anywhere to put them out. That changes when Fruits de Mer Records release Earthman, his first vinyl release, a 10″ combining electronics and downtempo textures. Roche’s route to the label started with a Facebook friend’s tip about a Pretty Things EP, and grew from there. Here he talks through the local library studio that started it all, the friends who shaped the record, and what it means to finally hold a Man & Machine release in his hands.

Considered this for the album cover for the Man & Machine music project...liked it but thought the man was too modern looking..🧐

I'm not a "Grammy's" sort of guy...never watch it or have ever been interested in it...but....when Sierra Ferrell wins four Grammy's at it , then I'm into it....such a well deserved success.....and who'd have thought I'd have been photographed with a four time Grammy winner.....this was back in 2023 (I think) when she played an in store gig at a very small record shop in Edinburgh ❤️

Quick trip to Zulu records, before being "rescued" by Mrs R...😐got The Cowsills and Grass Roots...there were a few Bee Gees and Association ones I was tempted with but they weren't in that good a condition.
Love the cardboard sleeves ....was tempted with "Knockers Up" and the 8 piece "quartet"...Blackwood Brothers...😄
