A few weeks ago I had the honor of standing by one of my closest friends in the world as she married the love of her life. It was an incredibly beautiful wedding and something I am so grateful to have been apart of. @moorealongcampbell Even though I am super sad we won’t have the same last name anymore I couldn’t be happier for you. You found the perfect guy for you and I wish you a lifetime of joy and a marriage centered around Christ. Love you bunches. You’ll always be my sista from another mista 💕 by @makayla_long13

“Life isn’t about sports, sports are about life.”

I can’t even begin to describe the emotions of this past week. I got to wrap up my career in the place it all started. My freshman year of high school I competed in the Oregon State track meet at the original Hayward Field, then did Nike Nationals my senior year of high school at the new Hayward Field, and to now have finish my senior year of college there was surreal. I am both incredibly sad it is over but also forever grateful. Athletics have made me who I am today. It has forged a competitive spirit that drives me to go after a goal with everything that I have. It has allowed me to feel overwhelming joy in victory while at the same time experiencing crushing defeat. It has given me some of my most cherished memories. It has taught me that my worth is not defined by an outcome of a performance but rather by who Jesus says that I am and how I can share His love through the platform of sport. I have met and worked with so many incredible coaches and athletes who have all made a distinct impact on my life without ever knowing it and for that I am so grateful. As I close this chapter I can honestly say I left nothing in the tank. I gave it everything I had to give so I can now peacefully rest with the outcomes. Now I get to look forward to experiencing what is in store for me next in this beautiful thing we call life. Thank you to everyone who has been apart of this journey with me. It has been one crazy ride❤️ by @makayla_long13

Conference Recap:
Podium was so nice I did it thrice 🥇🥈🥉

🥇Shot put lifetime best: 17.70 meters. #13 in the nation and #3 in CSU history
🥈Hammer lifetime best: 60.29 meters. #9 CSU history
🥉 Discus lifetime best: 56.63 meters. #10 CSU history

All I can say is thank you Jesus! My goal coming into my last conference meet was to podium in all three events and not only did I do that but I had three lifetime bests in all three events. It was the greatest athletic performance I have had up to this point in my career. Most importantly I got to do it with my family there and incredible team and coaches all around me. I love this ramly 💚💛 by @makayla_long13
