New EP "SLE EP" is on the internet now

Wow it’s been a minute, I was hoping to release this a few weeks ago, but with the fickle weather and frequent rain, it didn’t feel like the timing was right

Last spring, I took a bunch of tape loops and put them to 4-on-the-floor beats and bass synths. It ended up as an ambient “micro-house” record - nice music to walk to or zone out to perhaps? To me, it invokes artists like Oval, Gas, early Aphex Ambient Works, etc. I hope you enjoy :)

Also it’s on Subvert, too. I guess this is my official launch for the platform!

More (different) music to come in the near future as well

NEW RELEASE!
@make.tapesounds is here!
Make Tape Sounds is a multifaceted bedroom project started in high school with merely a microcassette recorder and a guitar pedal. While releases have spanned genres, the project often trends towards ambient releases. The project itself is one: constant tinkering with audio effects, and two: decaying audio through tape loops, resampling them, and other lofi-degrading techniques.

Proof of concept - trying to create something glitchy yet musical(ish) with a dusty old cd by applying some tape and drawing on it with pens

Thanks @theceliarose for lending me your discman to do so ❤️ by @make.tapesounds

Hi just posting this to share about new music:

In November I archived and cleaned up all the tunes I've been working on for the past 3 years. Most of it on the Polyend Tracker, and more of it from Field Recordings.

This ended up with 3 (or 4? Maybe 5??) full records of material, 2 of which will be out in the not so far future.

More deets to be revealed but I'm very excited about the upcoming projects!

Current draft of my next assignment for Juilliard Scoring to film.

All sounds from me building, processing and resampling a 808 & 909 kit and then further processing it thru tape saturation / compression to make it sound worn out and wonky

Yes it's weird. This animation style is super unsettling so I decided I had to go weird with it.

Gimme constructive criticism if you have any ☺️
