Nest Supply Shop🪺🪶🐦‍⬛

Exploring and experimenting with the different materials and ideas and making our own birds nest🪹

We have been spotting a lot of nests and reading a lot of books about birds.

Also, recently we got a chance to attend a bird friendly program in our local library and it sparked a lot more curiosity (Will add it to the stories)

Listing some items we used for making these nests, supplies were easily available on hand or outside:

We got a booklet of some interesting birdhouses and it became a delightful way to explore creative craft ideas and an inspiration to paint some antique hand illustrated ones from @morningstogether

If you’re looking to add an engaging and interactive activity, a farmers market play is an excellent option. It not only is an enjoyable activity but it also teaches them valuable life skills about farming, money, and food.

We had so much fun making the Popsicle stick farmers’ market stand and using our @petitcollage market match up game we collected a rainbow’s worth of colorful fruits, vegetables, and healthy treats from the market.

Last week featured plenty of cloud cover and persistent drizzle where we live. And, it was a perfect time to set up our clouds emotion play🌧️💧

Turtle loved the ocean and all the pretty sights, colours, and friends she met on her swims. Then, one day that changed when strange objects arrived. They didn’t look friendly, they looked scary. The ocean was losing its bright colours. These strange items were plastic floating in the water 🌊🐢🐠🌎

This picture book gave us an opportunity to talk about the problems of plastic in the ocean, and the challenges faced by marine life.

It allowed us to exchange our views on how we can practice 3Rs in an actionable way🌎♻️🌱🤝
1. Reduce (Minimizing waste at the source)
2. Reuse (Giving items a second life)
3. Recycle (Disposing properly)

APRIL SHOWERS ☔️🌧️

While the week here is expected to be mostly overcast, rainy and muggy, one consolation is that temperatures are expected to consistently hover around double digits🥳🙌

And this gave us an opportunity to set up our spring showers sensory bin. We are reviewing our tally marks counting/subitizing and working on the spatial reasoning through these rainbow cards!
