Being a Madster comes with a certain way of showing up.

But when you care deeply about getting something done, it’s easy to get caught up in the doing and forget to look around.

Manny shares on finding the balance and what it really means to show up for the people around you.

For him, good mentorship is also a form of care having someone to guide you, support you, and be an anchor along the way.

ā€œThere were smiles, claps, giggles and music that lingered long after the session ended. As we walked out, groups were still humming their parts, almost unwilling to let the moment go.

Can a group of amateur bathroom singers become a choir in just an hour?

Apparently, yes.

That’s exactly what happened at Strangers Choir.

We sang classics like *Happy* by Pharrell Williams and *Stand By Me*. One moment we were laughing at ourselves for missing notes, and the next, we were following the choir conductor’s hands, harmonizing in ways none of us thought we could.

Somewhere between the missed notes, laughter, and finding our voices, we stopped worrying about whether we could sing. We simply sang.

For an hour, we discovered something about ourselves and about each other that we didn’t know before.

And even after it was over, the music stayed with us.ā€

ā€œI went into Jithinā€˜s master class, thinking we’ll talk something about how we are going to work in the community. And how we are going to have sessions and mentor the kids. But this was probably something that I didn’t think of.

He spoke about a village, he spoke about the 150 people who are going to be there for each other in their lives. The village that is not just important for the kid, but also for each of us and for all of our volunteers. We sometimes don’t realise the connections that we make in life. The people who are there for us and those who shall stay for us. The people, for whom we shall be there.

It is our inner circle, it is our friends, family, people we meet regularly, and it extends to the communities that we are a part of-our common interests, whether it’s books, music, art, yoga, dance, whatever it is. We end up meeting people who are a part of each other’s lives in the smallest way possible, but their presence transforms something within us.

We don’t realise it immediately, but when we keep showing up to these places again and again, there is something that makes us feel secure, cared for, and we truly thrive. Which is what we also need for all of our children, we need an entire village, for any human being to thrive, and for any kid to reach their highest possibility.

A village for each MADster & beyond ā¤ļøā€

ā€œI’d been looking forward to Navarasa from the moment I first heard about it, and somehow it still exceeded every expectation I had.

The courage installation stayed with me the most. Standing in front of a jiu-jitsu master, I had one simple choice: step in or don’t. I was scared, but the second I stepped into the ring, there was no room left for fear. I was completely present. Every movement demanded my full attention, and for a few minutes, I experienced a level of presence I’d never felt before. I walked out feeling like I could do anything.

Not long after, I found myself sitting in complete stillness, listening to a stranger’s love letter being read aloud. Same body, completely different emotion. Feeling those contrasts so deeply was something I’ll never forget.

That’s what Navarasa gave me. In such a short span of time, I experienced emotions I don’t often let myself access. It reminded me that some things can’t be understood by thinking alone you have to feel them first. And when you do, parts of yourself you didn’t know were there begin to emerge.

I didn’t want it to end. Every installation brought back a childlike curiosity, a deeper connection to my body, my heart, and the present moment. It felt like stepping into another reality.

I walked away with something I didn’t expect: words for feelings I’d carried my whole life but never knew how to name.

I didn’t know an IP could do that to a person.ā€

ā€œDay 4. The last lap.
It’s funny how an ending can feel so much like a beginning

Three days of sitting inside these experiences, unraveling a little, finding pieces of ourselves we didn’t know were missing. Today, something shifted. We stopped attending and started building.
And whatever we’d dreamt up just hours ago became rooms people walked into, holding their laughter, tears, anticipation and everything in between.

It was..magical, watching it come alive like that.
And somewhere in that magic, something in us shifted too.
We became something we don’t quite have a title for and yet still anchored to the same values we’ve always had, just holding it with new hands.

In a way, it wasn’t really the last day.
It was Day 1 of whatever comes next.

I don’t have the right word for what experienced. I just know I felt it, all the way through.ā€

ā€œDay 3 started with cameras, stories, and one question that somehow became the theme of the day:

ā€œWhat is an IP?ā€

Every conversation circled back to it. What makes something memorable? Is it the idea, the execution, or the way it makes people feel? More importantly, what story are you choosing to tell?

By evening, I found myself at a Sofar session, listening to artists sing their hearts out. Somewhere between the music, the conversations, and the people around me, I realized the answer wasn’t in a presentation or a brainstorm.

Maybe an IP isn’t just something you build.

Maybe it’s a moment that stays with people. A conversation that shifts your perspective. A room full of strangers who leave feeling a little more connected than when they walked in.

Today reminded me that the most meaningful stories aren’t always the ones we create on purpose.

Sometimes, they’re the ones we simply have the privilege to live. šŸ¤ā€

ā€œDay 2 unfolded into something far beyond anything I could have imagined.

Throughout the day, I watched faces transform from childlike joy to buried anger, from tears of compassion to the courage that comes after moving through something hard.

Something extraordinary happens when we create space to simply feel. The more space I create to truly feel, the more I find my way back to my core the part of me that knows how to love and be loved.

On day 2 of bootcamp I got access to that like never before.

Maybe that’s why experiences like these feel so transformational. Because sometimes, we don’t just find ourselves. We find each other. šŸ¤ā€
