OH WHAT A NIGHT! Got to feel like a rock star, doing makeup for Amy, Phoebe and Ruby for their gig @thezoo.bne in October! @ascotstabber @lexicon.lexicon @amylandthesniffers
I've always felt at home among musicians and other creatives. I feel like it's because we are all #MISFITS in our own way. I've loved every opportunity I've had to work with these talented individuals and help bring their stage persona or musical image or vision to life through makeup.

What a wild ride 2020 has been #AMIRIGHT ⁉️

Don't get me wrong, I know it's been an incredibly tough time for so many, but the more I talk to people the more I find that this crazy year has bought about opportunity. Opportunities that may not have presented themselves otherwise.

Case and point. I was called in very last minute to work on a Commercial Shoot for @bricklanebrewing, to spruce up the 'TALENT'. Little did I know that the 'TALENT' was none other than the fabulous @sarahmcleod1, incredible musician and front person for legendary Aussie Band @the_superjesus. Also, a pretty big idol of mine. Nervous at first, we got chatting and I soon relaxed and felt like I was catching up with an old mate. What a legend.

I've since had the opportunity to work with her a couple more times for some Brisbane based gigs! How good is it that Live Music is back!

Thanks Sarah. You're a real class act. 🙌❤ by @makemeoverartistry

..Is there such a thing as TOO FAR behind the scenes?
We think not.
*cue crocs, vapes and tracksuit pants..

My incredible longtime collaborator (she shot the PR for Small Town Temple and so much more of my visual output since then) @laura.may.grogan knocked it outta the park on this clip. What a time.
We made this thing FIRST, before I even knew what the singles were or what order I’d release things in, because, well, I had a spooky vision, and I whispered it to LMG over too many wines, blowing off steam about the recording process and just how MUCH it reflected this song, this one that just had to be the title track..
Anyway, there was no stopping her after that. She claimed it and she made all THIS happen.
With much help from the local rad-lady team - Hurrah and thanks to the incredible eyes / skills of Indigo @indi_gog our DOP/editor/grader, seen merging with me momentarily in the mirror/window here.. the outrageously talented force that is make-up and hair artist, Sarah Smith @makemeoverartistry who flew down from Brisbane for this (!!!) My ride or die PA/TM handy with anything, big or small at any hour, @tammy__blake , the most multitalented all acting all set dressing beauty, @georgia.grace.c and my glamour-fluffer and ‘film clips are scary~help me please!’ handler, also the one with the mad BTS reel skills, Tanzer @studiotanzer ✨

You know what ‘success’ IS to me? It’s having the kind of friends, community and goodwill that makes things like this clip possible. Boom. 🎤
Hope you’re enjoying the song and the album out there, folks.. Xx Hoops

‘Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream..’

Okay, met my coolest fan EVER, technically at an Ella Hooper show, but repping @killing.heidi merch and - Lol - I had also rocked up in mine too (okay I may have slept in mine.. it was an early morning flight!!??What else is your own merch for, amirite muso friends?) but THIS little legend, Finn, came to the @smallfryrock show in Brissie on Sunday ready to party! And props to his gorgeous chaperones’ @makemeoverartistry & @_ryanpoole_hair (adore you guys, also, CONGRATULATIONS!!! 💍 Arghh!) were there to make sure he had solid back up. Quite the tribe. God it’s fun realising legends who loved your music are breeding more legends who might go on to love your music?! Also, utterly hilarious to see Mascara’s snotty teen angst chorus lyrics plastered on such a sweet young thang!!! The best.. (*nb - a few of these tees are still available on KH’s site I think if ya missed out first time) #ellahoopersolo #smallfryrock #killingheidi #fan #fam 🤘🏼 by @makemeoverartistry
