In celebration of World Mental Health Day, we’re sharing the inspiring journey of Tellwell author Lisa Bournelis, who penned “Louie and the Dictator.” Her powerful story sheds light on mental health in a thoughtful and impactful way.

Inspired by her child’s experiences with OCD during the pandemic, she wanted to uplift children struggling with anxiety during this extraordinary time by showing that they are heroes of their own stories, and by sharing a hopeful message that adjustments to the way we think can transform our circumstances.

THANK YOU to everyone who supported my first Ride On to conquer cancer event! In honour of those lost to cancer, those surviving, and those still battling, this ride was for you. You helped me raise $1300 which goes directly to @cancersociety for research. Research had dramatically improved the care and survival rates for so many cancers, and every dollar you donated continues to move the needle!

The Odyssey has drummed up a LOT of attention lately, which will hopefully inspire folks to read Homer’s original epic, and come to their own conclusions. As an author of Greek decent, and an avid storyteller, I was was lucky to have made a little pilgrimage to the alleged site of Homer’s tomb on Ios Island, in the beautiful Cyclades of Greece.
