One of our most requested craft socials is BACK! ✨✏️

Join us for Sketch and Shrink at @makeplayconnect, where we’ll be transforming doodles into all things tiny: charms, keychains, button, zip tags – and anything else you can dream up. Using shrink plastic, UV resin and all sorts of fixings, we’ll create some miniature magic - but be warned that it’s a bit addictive!

Whether your doodles are perfectly polished or gloriously wonky, come along for a relaxed evening of making, experimenting and chatting, and take home your own pocket-sized creations!

Come and join us for our next craft social at @makeplayconnect: Circular Weaving 🧶✨

We’ll be exploring fun, mindful radial weaving techniques inspired by contemporary fibre artists Tammy Kanat and Emily Nicolaides, using colourful yarns and recycled materials. You’ll learn how to create a simple cardboard loom and build up textured woven pieces which can become coasters, wall hangings, decorations and more.

Feel free to bring along any fun scraps of yarn, ribbon or fibres you’ve got tucked away at home – the more colourful and textured, the better!

No experience needed at all – just come along, get stuck in and have a go. It’s all about slowing down, experimenting and enjoying the process.

Cross-Stitch & Collage is back next week at @makeplayconnect - just in time for Norfolk Creativity & Wellbeing Week…🧵✂️✨

A playful twist on our popular embroidered collage workshops, we’ll be taking inspiration from Petra Heidrich, Shannon Knowlton and Francesca Colussi to mix paper and classic cross-stitch in creative ways.

We’ll have a stash of photos, postcards, magazines and scraps ready for you to dive into, then show you how to bring them to life with cross stitch — from super simple to satisfyingly detailed.

Perfect for total beginners and seasoned stitchers alike, this is all about slowing down, getting creative, and spending a chilled evening in good company!

Back for another round at @makeplayconnect as we had a bunch eager beaders on the waiting list last time! 🎉

In this session we’ll show you how to build your own bead loom using simple materials, then guide you through creating bold, eye-catching woven designs. Inspired by Jessica Flores (@ukaome), we’ll take cues from her vibrant beadwork rooted in the colours and patterns of Mexican folk art.

You’ll create your own beaded piece – then choose whether to turn it into a bracelet, keyring, bookmark or something else (we’ll provide the fixings!) You’ll also be able to take your loom home so you can keep making.

No experience needed – just come along for a relaxed, friendly evening of creativity, good chats and lots and lots of beads!

Shiny things incoming… ✨💛

Join us at @makeplayconnect for Tin Treasures, inspired by the colourful Mexican folk art of hojalata and contemporary maker Alejandra Oviedo. We’ll be embossing tin to create ornaments, amulets and decorative photo frames, playing with pattern and texture to turn simple materials into tiny, shiny keepsakes.

Unfortunately I had to cancel last week’s Sketch & Shrink due to a rotten cold, but it’s back on 24th Feb! 🚨

Join us at @makeplayconnect, where we’ll be turning doodles into tiny, meaningful makes: charms, keychains, buttons, pendants – and anything else you can dream up. Using shrink plastic, UV resin and all sorts of fixings, we’ll create miniature magic perfect for gifting to someone you love (including yourself!) Hearts optional, inside jokes encouraged.
