Let’s talk about full glam. ✨

Full glam doesn’t have to mean matte, dry, or overly dramatic. You can love full coverage, smoky eyes, and a bold lip without sacrificing that fresh, skin-like finish.

For this look, we created my version of dewy full glam using the @maccosmetics Full Coverage Foundation Palette. Its creamy formula helps maintain that skin-like finish without taking away all the natural-looking glow. I layered @charlottetilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter underneath for that extra glow from within.

The eyes are dramatic without harsh lines. Everything is blended and diffused, with a smudged black pencil liner and a glam lash that’s fluffy and feathery rather than stiff or spiky.

And the lips? A little pop of color in a soft, neutral fall brown. 🤎

The word heavy gets a lot of hate in our industry, but heavy doesn’t mean bad. There’s light coverage and full coverage, soft glam and full glam. Neither is better than the other. They’re simply different styles and preferences.

Full glam can still look like skin. Heavy coverage can still look fresh. It’s all about how you create the look. ✨ by @makeupbycrista

As a makeup artist, I’ve spent years in an industry where beauty and fashion collide, trying to find that sweet spot between looking chic and actually feeling comfortable. Because let’s be honest, looking stylish is one thing, but being able to work in what you’re wearing is another.

Matching sets have become my staple for early call times when there’s barely enough time for coffee, let alone planning an outfit. They take the guesswork out of getting dressed while making it easy to look polished, put together, and effortlessly chic. Sneakers are a non-negotiable for me. We’re lugging makeup kits through all kinds of terrain, running between locations, and tackling our favorite thing ever 🤪 STAIRS. Comfort is essential!

And then there’s the hair. Working under lights and moving around all morning means I get HOT. For years, my solution was a messy bun with absolutely zero thought behind it. Function over fashion, always. But lately, I’ve been leaning into claw clips as my go-to. Whether I pull half my hair back or clip it all up, it takes seconds, keeps me cool, and feels so much more polished without sacrificing practicality.

I’m no fashion icon by any means, but over the years, I’ve found little ways to make getting ready for work easier without sacrificing personal style. And if sharing a few of my go-to tricks helps even one person make their work life a little easier, I’m all for it! 🤍

Pro Tip: You don’t need to splurge on designer labels or the latest fashion brands to look chic! Remember, we’re working with makeup all day, so there’s always a chance we’ll get a little on ourselves (hopefully not! 🤪).
