In a perfect world, we’d always have time for test makeups, but on commercials, shorts, and other fast-paced projects, we have to adapt! 💨

One quick way to streamline communication with the director and actor is by creating a reference guide for intensity. 🎨 This helps to make sure everyone is on the same page without wasting time. ⏱️

For this simple FX dirt application, I’ve tailored the intensity to suit the project’s tone, but you can always adjust and replace the photos with continuity of the actors when you have them!!

New kit addition, I’m obsessed @rmsbeauty! 🤯 I originally bought the lightest shade for myself and quickly added all four to my kit. They’re hydrating, color correcting and lightweight, did I mention they have SPF?

I love using them for no-makeup makeup looks and as skin prep under the eye for a full concealer applications. ✨

Every ounce of makeup you choose to apply or not apply helps define a character’s identity on screen.

Just a few of my favorite things to think about:
💡What is the character doing in the scene?
❔What has the character been through?
✅What kind of time would this character put into doing their own makeup?
📌Is there a natural progression or regression of makeup throughout the story?
‼️ Is the makeup design distracting?
