Last week, we had the premiere of "Don't Look Back in Angered" at Angered Theatre I got to do quite a lot of fun things where every change had to happen in front of an audience in just a few seconds. I got to do a wild boar mask with an articulated jaw and make some fun silly teeth. For a dream sequence where one of the actors appears as Eleven from Stranger Things, I did a silicone bald cap with a buzz cut.
It's a really good performance, and if you have a chance to see it, I highly recommend you do by @makeupfx

I just found a trailer of a short film I was working on last year.

And now I'm really curious to see the end result!
You who know me know that I'm not a huge fan of being on set and am more of a lab rat.

But on this film, it was truly a joy to be on set! Wonderful positive vibes every day. taken in Film i Väst by @makeupfx

Important update!
The test link I posted below was flawed...
It has now been fixed and anyone who has downloaded the app should redownload it with the same link in your e-mail. I lost one very important file into the zip!!

I got so much positive feedback on my post about the 3D preview page that you put on your own web server.
So I have now decided to put it in my shop for free (for a little while!!!)
I want as many of you as possible to try it out.
My only condition is that you email or DM me with feedback so I can make it even better.

Please try the software here.
https://www.makeup-fx-shop.com/3d/index.php
The password to test it is "mfx"

And my shop page to download it for free is:
https://makeup-fx-shop.com/3d-online-viewer-app.html

It is a very simple installation on your web server. No databases or anything difficult. Just unzip all the files and add your own 3D models into a new directory, and it will just work.

Hope you will like it and please tell me if you do!

Update!!
Thanks to very helpful comments from one of my readers: I have been able to update the security level to an even stronger protection for our 3D files, and the new version is now live in the shop, so go and get it and have fun! taken in Makeup-FX.com by @makeupfx

We still have to wait for another number of months until I can start showing all the monsters we did for this one.
We (me and Peter Siljebratt) made a werewolf, a werewolf transformation stage, a mummy, a lot of vampires with teeth and ears, a snowman, scars and wounds, a troll, a witch and more zombie faces and hands than I can count .....
And probably some other things I have forgotten...
But at least you can see our mummy here on the poster, and in the teaser trailer you can see some of the many, many zombies we did.
Really looking forward to seeing this one and hope that at least some of our stuff didn't end up on the cutting room floor... Stuff looked really good on the dailies. by @makeupfx

Do you ever need to present 3D sculpts to your clients?
I do all the time and I have been so bored of the expensive prices of all the subscriptions so I decided to create my own software for it!
So now after a lot of work, I now have a self-contained version which you put on your own web server and it costs you nothing in subscriptions per month!
As many models as you have server space for and no limits to the size of the models.
Super easy installation and maintenance, no programming required! Just an FTP app or the web-based transfer from your host.
It is password-protected, and you can have as many folders for different customers as you like.
All with separate passwords so you can follow NDAs and you do not share your secret models with any other company in other countries.
Would this be of interest to you?
DM me or write it in the comments. by @makeupfx

Finally, I feel like I am breaking into Nomad Sculpt a little bit...
Still very new to it but it has great potential for mould making but I am shocked how many copies of each object you need to make and it feels like you are writing a book to keep track of all the objects...
It's really fun to try to learn though!! by @makeupfx

Music video with the Gothenburg band Terra I helped out on recently.
I had not heard of them before, but was very pleasantly surprised by their music!

New experiment on the go!
I have recently done a lot of very thin smash resin moulds. This is when you print a thin mould, cast your silicone and then crush the very thin mould and get a seamless part out.
A few days ago, I started to want to push this further.
What if I scan a hand, resculpt it and then print the positive and negative locked together so I can pour in silicone and after smashing the lightweight mould, and then have a silicone glove with no seams at all after breaking the mould off gently??
It is being printed in my studio now, so it's all still in theory!
But what do you think about this idea???
For the test, I am printing the outside shell at 2.5mm and the inside shell at 2mm. I am printing it with clear resins so I will be able to fully cure them in water and UV and be able to cast silicone in the mould. taken in Makeup-FX.com by @makeupfx

It's a wrap on my latest film job, "Preservation of favored races in the struggle for life"! First time I worked on a film using Virtual Production LED screens and that was really cool!
As usual, I can't show you any of the makeups yet but it was a really fun challenge to make a a female character both looking cute and not so cute at the same time. Pictures will follow next year!
Huge thanks to Dunja and Goran for letting me join the film and have a lot of fun! And to @alexnord for being so patient and a real trooper in the makeup chair! taken in Trollywood by @makeupfx

Last night, I attended the Danish gala premiere of "The Girl with the Needle," which I worked on so much back in 2023 in Lodz, Poland.
It was a wonderful night, an amazing film, great catch-up with the team and just feeling so great about how everything I made for the film was used in the best way possible to help tell the story and not just be an effect.
Every time you see (or more hopefully won't see!) my effects they will pull you into the story and not just be an effect!
And that is always what I want the most!
I want the great stories to be told and I want to help if I can!
And for this film, I felt I did that!
I feel so proud of having been part of this and the connection I got with all the wonderful people on this film!
The big cherry on top was that we received an Oscar nomination for Best International Feature Film when I was sitting on the train home today!
The Tears of joy were plentiful!!

Makeup and puppet details from my last post. On the first picture we see the final effect from the film "Girl with the needle".
Pic 2. is the actor @besirzeciri without any makeup.
Pic 3. Some days we needed to shoot with the hollow part painted in green to make it easier for the digital crew to replace it with the puppet.
Pic 4. This is the silicone puppet we used to replace the hollow part of his face. On the puppet the rest of the face is Chroma Green to make it easier to remove in post.
Pic 5. A few of the many masks he wore for the shoot. They had to be thrown and rubbed on the ground a few times and then they needed to be replaced since they had so many layers of paint so they could not be fixed after any damages.
Pic 6 Besir in makeup on a day when we didn't need to replace his "hole" with the puppet. Then I just painted him matte black there.
As you can see in the first picture from the film they squeezed his face a bit thinner since with prosthetics you can only add never remove.
This was a lovely mix of practical makeup FX and VFX.
Even if the shoot was super hectic and stressful, I will always remember this as one of my favourite projects! taken in Łódź, Poland by @makeupfx
