decade: my chosen deacde is inspired from the 1932 film “The Mummy”

Monster: I chose to do a mummy monster inspired makeup. I chose the mummy from the 1932 film and decided to add my personal makeup style. I love creating horrifyingly beautiful creatures and blending FX and glam elements together. Taking inspiration from classic 1930s makeup I decided to do a very smoked out almost high fashion eye look. Smokey eyes and thick tightlines/waterlines was the staple look in the 1930s and I wanted that to be a key aspect with my makeup. I also kept the skin incredibly matte as was accurate for the 1930s and adding a gray haze all over the skin. I decided to wrap my mummy in lace rather than gauze because lace was a staple fabric in the 1930s but I wanted this monster to not only be a decayed and rotting corpse but also have this hauntingly beautiful feel to it. A mummy girl who not only has died and come back but now suffers through eternity as she rots away.

mehron products used: I used mehron paradise paints heavily throughout this look. I used paradise makeups aq in storm cloud all over the skin for a corpse like feel. I used paradise makeup aq in black for an airbrushed lip and shadows on the cheekbones and nose. I used paradise makeups aq in dark brown on the lace pieces to give a rotting and decayed ancient look. I also used mehron metallic bronze powder on parts of my monsters face to give a skin colored look with a fantasy element.

Such a fun project. 1960s is one of my favorite eras to recreate and the makeup being one of the final selling pieces for that era is always a creative adventure. Thank you @clairephillips1099 for letting me use your face as a canvas and @tylerkfilms for bringing me on as your H+MUA 💄

what an amazing time! a wonderful 8 days spent with the most incredible cast and crew. I'm so grateful to have been a part of the project and help create something fun, magical and showcase the beauty of mt. dora! My first vertical production, and I couldn't have had a better time
