Black Breastfeeding Week, Day 5! And our 3rd beautiful momma.

Darine brought her sweet baby and their luxurious hair to the studio!

Darine’s breastfeeding journey is still going strong as her baby turns one next week! She spent her time researching, planning and pumping to be able to exclusively breastfeed. As she says, her baby is the boss and is leading how their journey is going and how it will end.

I appreciated Darine sharing how she refuses to be shamed about feeding her daughter wherever she needs to. Breastfeeding is normal and should be seen that way always.

I hope the emphasis on breastfeeding this week encourages you to be confident and free when caring for your babies. And if you see a momma breastfeeding, send her good vibes and go about your business.

Black Breastfeeding Week Day 4!

Kayla is back sharing what she would do differently at the beginning of her breastfeeding journey. If you’re still pregnant or just starting, this one’s for you.

So much success with breastfeeding happens prior to birth and right at the beginning. Just like any topic, everyone has an opinion. Find someone you trust, doula, lactation consultant, friend with experience and ask all the questions.

I remember being in so much pain while pumping during the first few weeks, that I wasn’t sure how any woman before me pumped. It was the flanges, I had the wrong size and that fact alone almost ended my pumping journey. Have your village together so you know exactly where to go if you have questions.

Don’t be like me and listen to Kayla! Do your research so you can have the best start when it comes to breastfeeding.

Happy Black Breastfeeding Week! Whether you tried one time or have feed your baby from your body for years we celebrate you. Being a mother both an honor and a sacrifice. It demands so much and gives just as powerfully.

I wanted to highlight black mothers in this part of their journey. The mothers highlighted this week are still or just recently finished breastfeeding.

“I feel like a beautiful woman again. I am five months postpartum and this experience has taken me from here to here! It was something I didn’t know I needed. I’m glad I came!”

The beautiful @cantdenyni_ stepped in front of my camera for her Black Breastfeeding Week Portraits. During the experience she rediscovered a part of her she said she hadn’t seen in over a year.

Motherhood can easily become a time of giving everything to everyone else. You need a space where you can get pampered, have fun, create beautiful memories, and be reminded of the woman before.

During your session you will get your makeup done and take gorgeous images. But you will also play, explore, breathe, slow down, and reconnect with yourself as well as your baby. Because these portraits are about the experience and the images equally.

Her gratitude for this experience is exactly why I love creating these moments for moms. I’d love to create it for you too. Save this and share it with a mom who needs an experience for herself!

During your pregnancy journey you’re filled with all the hopes, worries, dreams, and concerns. All while creating life. Your journey each time deserves to be as stress free as possible.

When I started maternity sessions, I wanted to make sure my mommas had make up and hair on site. To make sure each mom-to-be can take that off their check list. As we know motherhood can be a marathon of managing lists, but your maternity session with me gets to be a moment of exhale.

Today, my heart is full.
Happy Birthday to me ❤️

Thank you to God, my wonderful bf Aaron, my family, my friends, and everyone who took a moment to reach out with a call, text, message, or kind words. Your love and support mean more than I can express.

As grateful as I am for those who are here, I’m also thinking of my beautiful angels above my grandmother, my grandfather, and my aunt. I miss them deeply and wish they were here. Their love continues to guide me every day.

This season of life feels especially meaningful. I’m grateful for the lessons, the growth, and for discovering what truly brings me joy and having the courage to pursue it wholeheartedly.
