Who needs a weekend out of town when we have small-town fall at home?

This week, we’re showing you how we do Thanksgiving in The Beach — from everything you need to set the table, fill the fridge and bring something delicious to dinner, to the neighbourhood spots doing the cooking for you.

Think cosy shops, local favourites, good food, autumn leaves and that everyone-knows-your-name feeling (all without leaving the city)!

Halloween on Queen is back — and so is our Costume Parade!

Join The Beach BIA for a fun, family-friendly afternoon along Queen Street East. Dress up the kids, dress up the dog (or yourself!) and come celebrate Halloween in The Beach.

Decorate for the season with our free colouring pages! Available to download on our website (link in bio).

The Costume Parade Returns!

Meet us at 1:30 PM at Ivan Forrest Gardens. We’ll gather in the park before setting off just before 2:00 PM, walking together along the sidewalk on Queen Street East toward Kew Gardens.

Kids and pets are welcome - costumes are highly encouraged!

Once we arrive at Kew Gardens, the Halloween fun continues with trick-or-treat bags, colouring tables, cornhole and a visit from our special guest, the Robot Dog.

From 2:00-4:00 PM, families can also stroll Queen Street East and trick-or-treat at participating Beach businesses displaying the Halloween on Queen - Treats Here! sign.

🎃Just before 2:00 PM - Costume Parade heads along
Queen Street to Kew Gardens
🎃2:00-4:00 PM — Halloween activities at Kew Gardens + Trick-or-Treat on Queen

🍂🍁 You don’t have to drive out of town to find that cosy fall feeling. Toronto: we have Stars Hollow at home!

This fall, take the long way.

Our self-guided trails are the perfect excuse to slow down and explore, connecting the waterfront, local parks, beautiful tree canopy and Queen Street East.

Grab a coffee for the walk. Wander through the neighbourhood. Pop into a shop you’ve never visited. Stop for something delicious. Find a patio while the sun is still warm. Discover a corner of The Beach you’ve somehow never noticed before.

Thanksgiving prep, but make it a neighbourhood stroll. 🍂🦃🥧

Our Thanksgiving Tour of The Beach has begun, and we’re starting with the essentials: the turkey, the trimmings and (duh) pie.

📍 @judys.beach.cafe for gluten-free and vegan pies and crumbles from Bunner’s Bakeshop and Tori’s Bakeshop

Pro tip? Order ASAP to avoid disappointment!

On September 30th, we join communities across Canada in observing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

For millennia, the land now known as The Beach area in Toronto was a vital resource and gathering place for First Nations, including the Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Anishinaabe (Mississaugas), who fished, hunted, and gathered in the region.

Today, we reflect on this history, honour the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and the children who never returned home. We encourage our community to take time to learn, listen, and walk together on the path toward reconciliation.
