You will never be prepared for that phone call or text message telling you that someone you love is no longer here. In the last 2 months, I lost 2 important people in my life.

Uncle Melvin, thank you for always having that contagious smile and for looking out for anyone in need of a helping hand. You fought Pancreatic cancer for three years and never stopped fighting. No matter the circumstances, you continued living each day to the fullest. You showed me that everything is worth fighting for regardless of how hard it gets, and I will never forget that. Your strength will forever stay with me.

Grandma Alice, I wish I had been around more these last couple of years. Growing up, Yanni and I would constantly ask to visit you just to sit and listen to you tease my dad while he played with your hair. Memories like those will never fade, and I wish I had cherished them even more. You lived through six generations and never lost that same beautiful smile. I hope you and GG are having a blast up there.

Hold your loved ones close—you never know when it might be their last day. I love you both, and I hope you are resting peacefully. Forever going to continue to make you guys proud. ❤️ by @makhi.walker
