She’s got a bachelor’s degree!! And despite dislocating my knee a month before graduation, I still walked (hobbled) across the stage :) Plans and priorities can change in a heartbeat. Trying not to take anything for granted. I’m leaving a little piece of home behind in Western NC, but the world is an oyster or whatever! ;) Photos taken by my beautiful gorgeous roommate @julia.dougherty by @mal.0e
that’s a wrap on college, and film school :( i left boston and came back to north carolina to transfer to WCU - having never set foot on campus, mind you. i had no way of knowing if i was walking into a good choice. i was unprepared for this place and these people to utterly change everything. i wish i could burn away any uncertainty i had before. because from the first film set i stepped onto here, something was allowed to click into place that i’d been shoving away. i adopted a confidence, awakened ambition, and challenged so many fears. i know and love more people than i ever have before. i can’t believe i won’t be back in august. starting over never gets easier. but i’m so lucky to have had a home that’s this hard to leave behind. all i can express is love and a deep, deep gratitude. i love you ftp, thanks for everything <3 by @mal.0e

i realize now that i am addicted to putting the foreground out of focus film photos from new york (duh) thank you @reaganseeley, @cameronconte03, and that surprisingly chill goose for being my patient subjects :) developed by @keeganddanger by @mal.0e
2025 a year that began with the death of my beloved grandmother, was then followed by the busiest semester of my life and my worst burnout. i turned 21. i was the showrunner of a five episode show. i went to london with my best friend. we saw so many original paintings up close, but mostly we just proved to ourselves that we could make it over an ocean on our own. i cut off all my hair. i spent lots of time with trees, and swam in any body of water i could find. i wrote and filmed my junior AND senior thesis films, as well as several independent shorts. but best of all i loved and was loved by so many beautiful people. grateful isn’t a big enough word. the fullest year i have ever experienced. so much changes so fast. happy 2026 🎉 by @mal.0e
these photos drop me back into a small but good memory :) late summer, september 5. we’d been on set all day in SC, and the crew was staying in this big airbnb farmhouse for the night with an early call time the next morning. i was one of the first ones at the house. it was at the end of a long dirt road and surrounded by rolling fields. it was warm, the sun was setting, and it was silent except for the bugs and birds. i went for a walk with my film camera and finished the last four photos on my roll. the rest of the crew trickled in, and i watched them drive past me up to the house. i remember having the all-too-familiar thought that i’d miss that moment in time. but how lovely to have a life made of so many moments to miss! :) moral of the story: GO FOR A WALK! by @mal.0e
