associate secondhand with dirty clothes? 🥴 think again!!

I wish I could say I’m a real thrifter…someone who loves sorting through racks and racks for something special. But I’m a consigner and secondhand designer girly through and through 🤭

so if you’ve tried a true thrift store & found a tissue in the jacket pocket…try resale sites like Poshmark, ThredUp, Depop and TheRealReal ✨ and search for your local consignment shops because you’ll typically find only high quality vintage and modern brands there

thrift stores aren’t inherently “dirty” but they’re typically getting more volume so doing quality control on every piece is challenging! you’re getting a great price at the thrift store but you’re likely doing more of the quality check yourself

I call my type of secondhand shopping lazy thrifting but hey, my clothes are real cute 😇

no spend fall style tips 🍂✨

🍂 Lead with texture, not temperature: corduroy, knit, suede…fall “reads” visually before it’s actually cool enough to wear layers
🍂 One transitional layer you can shed: jacket or cardigan that’s more prop than necessity, worn open
🍂 Swap your palette before you swap your closet: richer tones (rust, olive, chocolate) on the same warm-weather silhouettes you’re already wearing
🍂 Footwear does the heavy lifting: a boot or loafer instantly signals “fall” even over a summer dress
🍂 The one piece you buy for the season, not the weather: something you’re just excited to wear regardless of the thermostat

I love supporting a cool small business like the next person, but we also need to be mindful of our consumption 🙂‍↕️ (says the chronic shopaholic)

I am soooo guilty of justifying a purchase because I fall in love with the shop’s cuteness and the business owner 🙈

nobody tells you that you’re allowed to just...feel neutral about this

everyone prepares you for hating your postpartum body. some people prepare you for loving it. almost nobody tells you it’s fine to feel nothing dramatic at all 🤷🏻‍♀️ or to be weirdly excited to dig your old closet back out??

there’s no required feeling here…just whatever’s actually true for you.

1. whether you lose 1 lb or all of your baby weight after birth, you may still feel like your clothes are judging you 😮‍💨
2. you may hate your entire wardrobe or actually be excited to try on some of the pieces you haven’t worn in a while - the feelings aren’t mutually exclusive
3. trying an old piece back on isn’t really about whether it zips 🙈 it’s you checking if that version of yourself still feels true & that’s a much bigger question than a button
