I'd like to announce that last week. I was co-opted as a town councillor to represent St John's Ward in Loughton from 12th of May 2026. Replacing Cllr Ian Allgood at the town council Level. I just want to take this opportunity to say a few thank yous firstly to Ian who has done some fantastic work for Loughton over the last few years. I'd also like to thank the town councillors that have voted me in and most importantly I would like to thank the people of Loughton and St John's ward in particular for giving me such support over the last few weeks as I went through the co-option process.

I will endeavour to do my best to represent the people of St John's ward and of Loughton and serve them to the best of my ability.

Newly co-opted counsellor,

Last week The Brentwood and Epping Forest Independent Advisory Group (IAG)
Body worn video/ stop and search panel.

Reviewed stop and search footage from Brentwood and Epping Forest. At Loughton police station. As well as data showing the breakdown of age and other demographics of of those being stopped.

The panels work goes towards improving Essex Police stop and search and making sure that they stick to the regulations set over them. Whilst simultaneously improving the experience for the members of the public interacting with Essex Police 🚓🚔 taken in Loughton Police Station by @malachi.f
