My Journey Through Chronic Pain and Illness 🤎🙏🏽

Someone close to me recently challenged me to fully embrace what it means to live with disability, chronic pain, and chronic illness. Then they asked me what I feared about being that vulnerable. That question stayed with me.

For years, I kept this part of my life private. I focused on helping others, showing up when I could, and carrying pain that most people never saw.

I’ve always believed people reveal who they are when you’re at your lowest, even when they don’t know you’re suffering. I didn’t want pity. I didn’t want people to see me only through the lens of my disability.

But I also believe fear has to be faced. Pain has to be acknowledged. And truth has to be honored, even when it’s uncomfortable.

So I decided to accept the challenge.

This is my chronic pain and illness journey.

Pain and illness are a major part of my story, but they could never define the person I am, the purpose I carry, or the light I still give.

To my chronic illness, chronic pain, and disability community, I know most days can feel unbearably heavy. When you are hurting every day, it can be hard to see beyond what you are living through.

Please remember that you still deserve love, care, patience, grace, understanding, and kindness, especially on the days when simply getting through the day takes everything you have.

What you are experiencing may shape your life, but it does not diminish your worth, your humanity, or who you are.

Writing is a form of therapy 🙏🏽🤎

Support The Creators Part VII 💫
A Collaboration with AMBIANCE SOUND (@ambiancesound)

Hi, everyone!

I’m excited to return with another edition of Support The Creators. I love discovering artists who pour their imagination, emotion, and skill into music. I’ve always had a special appreciation for instrumental music and the creators who bring those sounds to life.

Today, I’m highlighting the talented composer dylex (@dddylex). I discovered his work while browsing The Sample Lab (@thesamplelab), in search of music that could truly move me.

When I came across his project, “SINAI VOL. 2,” I knew I had to purchase it. The project is filled with beautiful, majestic sounds that feel cinematic and deeply personal. My favorite instrumental is “icarus.” It’s the kind of music that makes you pause, take in the world around you, and appreciate the beauty of a peaceful view.

This is a reminder that supporting creators matters, especially in a society where artists are constantly fighting to have their work valued. As supporters, we can do our part by purchasing their work, sharing their music, and showing genuine appreciation for what they create.

Sound & Power: Who Really Owns Watch the Throne?🎧🎤

Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne is one of my favorite albums I have ever experienced. Not just heard, but truly experienced. To me, it stands as one of the greatest hip-hop albums and collaborative projects ever created. I still remember where I was the first time I pressed play. I remember the feeling, the energy, the confidence, and the creativity in the sound. It felt bigger than music. Kanye was my favorite artist at the time, and Jay Z’s greatness was undeniable.

As I got older and learned more about the music business, copyright, publishing, and ownership, my curiosity changed. I no longer wanted to know only who made the music. I wanted to know who actually owned it. What I discovered disappointed me, but it also opened my eyes. I became especially fascinated with the ownership of the master recordings because masters carry power, value, control, and history. Artists have fought for generations to own their recordings, and too many have lost that battle.

This educational project was meaningful and exciting to work on because I love learning, but more importantly, I love sharing what I learn. Music is powerful, but understanding the business behind the music can change how you hear everything. I hope this inspires, informs, or brings clarity to anyone who sees it. My Knicks,

It’s hard to explain what this team has meant to me. Watching this journey changed the way I looked at the game, the way I believed, and the way I understood resilience. I’m proud to be a Knicks fan, and I’m grateful I got to witness every part of this road to a championship.

From the moment President Leon Rose put this version of the team together in the summer of 2025, it felt like something special was building. Bringing in Mike Brown as the coach was a bold move, but it showed vision and belief. Then the deadline trade for Jose Alvarado gave the team another burst of heart, toughness, and edge.

This road wasn’t easy. There were highs, lows, injuries, pressure, criticism, and plenty of people who doubted you. Most of the NBA world didn’t look at the Knicks as real contenders. But when you really paid attention to this team, you could see what made it different. The mental toughness was there. The chemistry was there. The love, accountability, grit, and sacrifice were all there.

And at the center of it all was our Captain, Jalen Brunson. He led with purpose, confidence, patience, and heart. He carried himself like a man built for the moment. Built to win. Built to keep going. Built to quiet the noise and still stay humble.

But this destiny was not fulfilled by one man alone. OG Anunoby, our Super Soldier. Mikal Bridges, Killa Kal. Karl-Anthony Towns, KAT. Josh Hart. Mitch Robinson, Big Mitch. Miles McBride, Deuce. Jose Alvarado, GTA. And every player, coach, and person who poured something into this team. You all gave New York something real to believe in.

Thank you for bringing joy to New York and to Knicks fans everywhere. Thank you for the fight, the heart, the belief, and the sacrifice. This legacy will never be forgotten.

Support The Creators Part VI 💫:

Hey all,

I’m glad to be back with February’s edition of Support The Creators Part VI. There is something about returning to this series that feels like coming home, like pulling out a favorite vinyl and letting it play. I missed the search. I missed the spark. I’m excited to get back to discovering and highlighting composers, the quiet architects of emotion who build entire worlds without saying a word. To me, they are some of the most inspiring creators in the music industry. So today is about Dreamin (@proddreamin).

Exploring new compositions is always an experience for me. It feels like crate digging in a small vinyl shop. When I found Dreamin’s work, I was instantly inspired and impressed. There is real intention in the way he shapes his melodies. Space. Patience. Soul.

I decided to purchase his Serenity Volume 3 project. It’s versatile, smooth, and soulful. The “Charlie Brown” instrumental is one of my favorites. It carries a warmth that feels nostalgic, like a memory you did not know you missed.

For producers, this project can spark ideas right away, opening new pockets, new directions, and new feelings to translate. For listeners who love music without lyrics and want to sit with the emotion of sound itself, this is perfect. It breathes.

Don’t forget to support creators directly if you can. Behind every composition is someone who stayed up late, chose discipline over distraction, and believed their ideas mattered. When we support them, we are not just buying music. We are helping keep someone’s dream alive. That kind of love always finds its way back.

What’s good, all!

I’m excited to drop Part five of “Support The Creators” series. For those following with us, you know what this is: putting money directly in the hands of the people making the music, because the industry isn’t built to benefit them.

The new R&B era is overflowing with talent. Today I want to put you on to one of my favorites: Khamari (@khamari). Been listening to him for a couple of years now, and his music stays in rotation. His voice, his pen, the moving melodies? That’s a gift you can hear. If you grew up on R&B/Soul, you should resonate with this.

I copped his project “A Brief Nirvana” off iTunes. “Tell Me” hits different every time. Stream him if you want, but something tells me once you hear what he’s doing, you’re going to want to support him for real.

It’s been a joy continuing this “Support the Creators” series. For Part IV, I had to show love to Pat Junior (@iampatjunior), a multitalented creative who does it all: artist, writer, producer, composer, creative director, and more.
