POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
There’s a much longer story behind these photos.

We were basically just kids with absolutely no idea what we were doing.

No master plan. No money. No clue where any of this was going.

This is basically the missing story between dropping out of high school, being homeless at 17 and somehow ending up in the Airbnb business.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, Jess came into my life.

I was actually doing really well in high school. I wanted to become a doctor, plastic surgeon or lawyer.

Then I had experiences in school that completely changed the way I looked at letting other people dictate my future.

I eventually went back to finish Grade 12 online and had ONE assignment left.

Before submitting it, I went to tell my vice principal I was finally done.

She told me:

“Good thing you did that Malcolm, because if you didn’t finish school you would never amount to anything in life.”

Her office was on the right. The library was on the left. The exit was right in the middle.

I walked out of her office, got to the middle and turned toward the exit.

Never submitted the assignment.

Never went back.

After my experiences at school, my entire attitude changed.

I basically stopped giving a fuck.

Barely showed up. Started partying constantly. Smoked way too much weed and made plenty of stupid decisions.

I definitely wasn’t some 17-year-old entrepreneurial mastermind.

For a while, I was going completely off the rails.

I also started throwing ridiculous house parties.

Sometimes 100+ people packed into somebody’s house.

Looking back, it’s actually hilarious because some of the skills I eventually used in hospitality started here.

Set everything up. Get everyone there. Manage a ridiculous number of people. Keep everything from getting completely destroyed.

I obviously had no idea I was learning anything useful at the time. 😂

After leaving school, I spent almost a year at home obsessing over real estate.

Videos. Notes. Learning constantly.

But looking back, my dad wasn’t entirely wrong when he thought I wasn’t doing anything with my life.

I was learning without taking action.

Eventually we got into a huge fight and he gave me two choices:

I write this for the person reading this right now who may be in the same position we were.

BROKE AND BROKEN.

I know how it feels to sit there asking why you’re being punished.

Scrutinizing every little thing you did wrong. Every decision. Every person you trusted. Wondering how the f*ck you ended up here.

But there’s another side to this.

You keep going.

Even when it feels like you’ll be dead in the water tomorrow.

It might last an entire year.

But you keep swimming.

One step at a time.

And I want to make something very clear:

I take full responsibility for where I am today.

It would be easy to blame everyone else for what happened to me. I don’t.

There were times I knew something didn’t feel right and went along with it anyway. Times I compromised my values because I was scared of losing everything I had worked for.

And ironically, I lost it anyway.

That taught me one of the hardest lessons of my life:

If keeping something requires you to become someone you don’t respect, you already lost it.

No amount of money, status or success is worth selling your happiness or abandoning your values.

I f*cked up. I made decisions I’m not proud of. And nobody gets to take responsibility for those decisions except me.

But looking back, I genuinely believe God was testing me.

Things I desperately tried to hold onto needed to leave my life. People I thought I needed disappeared.

And somehow they were replaced by people who showed me what loyalty actually looks like.

Being completely broke with almost nothing left to offer anyone was probably the best possible time to find out who was really there for me.

Some people surprised me in the worst ways.

Others surprised me in ways I’ll never forget.

So if you’re sitting where I was:

Keep swimming.

Take responsibility for the shit that’s yours.

Learn from it.

Don’t carry the sh*t that isn’t.

Stick to your values. Protect the people who stood beside you when there was nothing in it for them.

And never sell your soul because you’re scared to lose something.

Sometimes losing it is exactly what sets you free. by @malcolmnguyen

Canadians.🇨🇦

Your E-2 visa can come through an Airbnb business.
Most people have no idea this door exists.

You do not buy a building. You build a real US business. Leased units, your own US company, set up properly, managed every single day. That business is what carries your visa.

We build the whole thing at Revarity. The units, the corp, the launch, the management after. Our partner Malcolm has done over 30 of these E-2 setups.

Our calendar is open. Book a free call and we will tell you straight if you qualify, how many units you would need, and what it would cost to build. No pitch deck. No pressure. Just the real numbers for your situation.

Turns out, they did me a favour.

Built my own kingdom. Redefined what it means to be locked in.

The business. The body. The life I’m building with her.

we flew to Tulum with no plan and built something out of nothing. no strategy. no backup. just moved and figured it out on the way.

people call it risky. I call it the only option. when you decide success is the only outcome there’s nothing to risk.

coming from someone who spent too long stuck in Canada playing it safe, this is what life looks like when you finally stop thinking and start moving.

this is the teaser. full vlog dropping this summer. by @malcolmnguyen
