In the middle of a marathon of jobs, each with intricate and complicated creatives that push me to my mental edge. Each time I hit what feels like my limit, I’m pushing through to another realm. I’m still learning how to also be a human through this process, too often neglecting my body and spirit. No sleep, too much coffee, not enough touch. This list came to mind this morning as a good reminder to myself.

When the dust settles, I’m dreaming up a way to bring more of my work as a healer into this space for fellow creatives. by @malia_james

This. The concept of “likes” and view counts hooked us on the idea of click bait and catchy visuals, just like the tech lords want.

May we all get back to creating for the enjoyment of the craft and throw out the need to win the arm wrestling match with the algorithm.

It’s hard to get me out of the house, but once you do, it’s hard to put me back in again.

Flashback to a night last winter when me, @dudeitsdesi, @algoldfarb, and @marciii decended on the late night streets of LA as a “Hot Girl Tornado.”

These feel like scenes plucked from a movie or music video I’d make. What comes first- the movie that inspires experience or the experience that inspires the movie… (or music video). by @malia_james

Last night’s screening of “Gran Hotel” and the work of @atibaphoto to celebrate the release of Interpol’s new album The Other Side of Make-Believe. Thank you @interpol @matadorrecords @braindeadstudiosfairfax for having me.

I had some great laughs with Atiba and felt emotional getting to see my work on the big screen with some of my closest friends and sweet Interpol fans.

Feeling grateful for my epic life that just keeps getting better. ❤️

It’s no secret that it takes an army to bring these things to life.

Anyone who has worked with me knows I command a high level of precision in what we’re creating across every single element of what’s going on screen- the locations, cast, wardrobe, lighting, camera moves, production design, edit, and color grade. I’m only able to hold that container when I work with people who are not only the best at what they do, but who are also willing to go on that journey with me until we get it right.

This one required an immense amount of planning in a short amount of time and had a lot of moving parts. The days were long and intense, but each and every person stayed the course.

Thank you to everyone in the band, cast, and crew for bringing your absolute A game. Thank you for your trust, for going the distance, and for being such a pleasure to work with. Thank you to Imposter and Lark for getting it off the ground. Thank you to Devin Sarno for always bringing me the best jobs and trusting my vision.
