Last post before fliers take over my feed 😪 but I just wanted to post some favorites from my camera roll and say goodbye to summer to make some iCloud storage. Thank you all for the memories 🕺🏾

Ordered a salad to watch my figure #dontworry

Still mentally recovering from this night 😵‍💫

If I didn’t answer your call, this was why

The dog in me

Lowkey one of the best days

I am > the program

Even though I messed up in the beginning I bounced back 🫠

My cry for help is through being a dj

💯💰💸

Also been blind since birth

Resident Advisor knows what’s up, do you? 😉

Shout out to @resident_advisor for making Future Footwerk a local RA Pick for the second time! 🔥

See yall tonight, $10 at door 18+ featuring @robotica.lee @carcrashersss @zla_kla @malice.alex

——

Future Footwerk is a dance party celebrating footwork, a Chicago-born electronic dance music style characterized by its blindingly fast 160BPM and rapid rhythms that make you wanna dance! This party brings Chicago to Durham with a look toward the future–expanding the footwork sound as a Black electronic tradition.

Future Footwerk is a collaborative partnership between Sonic Essence and ROBOTICALEE that follows in the footsteps of Detroit-Durham Connection and Booty Break (our ghettotech series), two series that uplift and celebrate the contributions of Black music pioneers that laid the groundwork for the international electronic music scene we hold dear today. taken in The Pinhook by @malice.alex

AAAHHHHH only two more days until FUTURE FOOTWERK returns to Pinhook featuring none other than MALICE ALEX! If you don’t know him yet, you’ll know him after he throws down this Friday 😈🫡

Malice Alex is an internet feign (in a good way). While his persona (digitalex) explores video editing and digital crafting, Malice Alex uses his introspective art by combining his style with dj’ing along with his digital projects. He’s been adamant about navigating the underground scene while learning and spinning the diverse sound of juke, footwork, ghetto tech, jungle, and DnB.

Early in his career as a DJ, he’s been making headway through a growing run of shows and a reputation for well-crafted, high-energy sets. His style is rooted in precision and intuition, with a sharp ear for layering and recontextualizing samples into seamless blends that keep crowds locked in!

18+ / $10 / 9 PM - 2 AM

🐆 Welcome to the Jungle 🐅

Huge thank you to everyone who came out, showed love, and kept the energy alive all night during our WTTJ set. Nights like these don’t happen often, and every single person there helped make it unforgettable.

Shoutout to the incredibly talented @andreavphotos for capturing the true spirit of how we junglers get down 🌴🔥 I couldn’t fit all of the moments into this post, so make sure to check out her page and support her artwork!

And a special thank you to @rubiesonfivepoints for opening your doors and letting us turn the space all the way up! More memories, more music, and more jungle soon 🤞🏾 taken in Rubies on Five Points by @malice.alex
