Eight shots were missing from this film: four hyperlapses I never had time to set up, and four shots I should be in. I was standing right there for all of them, I just had nobody to point a camera at me. So I directed all eight in Google Flow, from the footage I already had, and put the film back together the way I saw it on the drive home.

How I directed the eight shots that were missing from my New York film.
Eight hyperlapses I never had time to set up, and eight shots I should be in. I was standing right there, I just had nobody to point a camera at me. I built a character sheet of myself out of my own trip footage, then worked from the actual plates I shot on the street.
Every version that I missed is still in this video. Created with Gemini Omni in @googleflow .
The final film drops next, so turn your notifications on. Start creating today at Flow.Google. Comment “FLOW” and I’ll DM you the link.

When the road trip finally makes it out of the group chat, but you’re the only filmmaker in the group.

I had a blast in New York with my friends. I also came home with a weekend of them and almost nothing of me, and not one hyperlapse.

Sixteen shots are missing from this film. Eight hyperlapses I never had time to set up, and eight shots I should be in. I was standing right there, I just had nobody to point a camera at me. I’m going to direct all sixteen with @googleflow and finish it properly.

Full process next. Comment “FLOW” and I’ll send you a link to try Google Flow.

Decided to “disappear” for a week and shot some movies.

The footage I got out of that #Sirui 50mm t1.8 coupled with a #Sony A7RV anamorphic lens is insane, it basically makes anything “cinematic”.

I brought my @djiglobal OSMO Pocket 4P on a road trip and spent a week being as performative as possible.

This might be my new favourite camera for vlogging/traveling cinematic content 🤷🏾‍♂️

My first film roll on the Lomo MC-A.

Decided to bring it on a road trip to New York.

The camera failed me a couple times but the results are still tuff.

Overall I’d rate it a 7.5/10 taken in NYC by @malick.fr

For the past few years, @canva has been a constant in both my creative process and my business.

It’s where ideas stop living in my head and start becoming something I can actually share, pitch, and build.

This project is a look into that part of my workflow that most people never get to see.
