"Exploding Mangos"
When the juiciest lies are fed to the masses, the truth becomes a time bomb.

Exploding Mangos draws inspiration from A Case of Exploding Mangoes, a novel by Mohammed Hanif @mohammedhaneeef , and a session on his art of satire at Alhambra. This thought-provoking one-minute short peels back the layers of oppression, manipulation, national identity, cultural suppression, historical revisionism, and the suffocating grip of dictatorship on freedom of expression — all delivered through a sharp, satirical lens.

A piece of my heart. One may say that they have seen the play once they see it, but they truly haven’t seen it until they see how it all came to life. From giggles to endless complains about heat, I was taught of patience and a distinct form of intrigue. One may not know the truth of what they might be doing, but one may just love the uncertainty process.
These kids will always hold a special place in my heart.

Before I ever picked up a camera, I was just searching, trying to understand the culture and roots that make us who we are. Coming to Lahore only pulled me deeper into that journey.
One small mid-term assignment turned into a chance to give forgotten walls a voice, and through film, let them speak again.
To see that story connect with people at festivals has been the most humbling feeling. It’s a reminder that preserving our roots isn’t just about holding on, it’s about rediscovering them in new ways, again and again. 🍁🌻✨ by @malikiverse007
