This weekend was such a sweet reminder to slow down from the busyness of life and take time to quiet my heart and tune my ears to hear from the Lord.

The whole weekend we focused on the book of Ecclesiastes, which explores how everything “under the sun” is meaningless apart from God. King Solomon, the author of this book, had all that his eyes desired. He experienced every pleasure, had great riches, and possessed incredible wisdom. Yet, even after all of this, he came to this conclusion:
“When I considered all that I had accomplished and what I had labored to achieve, I found everything to be futile and a pursuit of the wind. There was nothing to be gained under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 2:11)

Even after experiencing everything the world had to offer, Solomon was still left wanting more. Nothing he gained or accomplished could truly satisfy him.

Solomon’s point wasn’t that everything we do is meaningless, but that nothing we pursue under the sun can give us lasting purpose or fulfillment apart from God.

When we live for the things of this world, we will always be left searching for more. But when we live for the Lord and seek to glorify Him in all that we do, our lives have a purpose that goes beyond ourselves and this world.

Such a good reminder that the things of this world will never truly satisfy us, but a life centered on the Lord is never meaningless. by @mallory_dollar5

What an amazing week getting to grow closer with such an amazing community of people who are on fire for the Lord!

This week was honestly really hard for me but it was also incredibly eye-opening! The Lord humbled me in so many ways and revealed a lot about my own heart. He reminded me of the power that prayer holds. It challenged me to depend on Him in every step, trusting that He goes before me and prepares the way.

He showed me the power of community and what it means to lean on your brothers and sisters in Christ to combat the lies of the enemy and to encourage one another through both the good and the hard moments.

This life is fleeting, and tomorrow isn’t promised. Every single day we wake up is a gift from God! Therefore, my prayer is that when I look back on my life one day, I can say that it truly mattered. And not according to what the world sees as successful, but in alignment with what God says is holy and pleasing to Him!

January… the start of a new year, and so full of searching for God’s face in both the amazing spiritual highs AND the really hard lows. He has been there through it all, and He is still here graciously carrying me through yet another year. He has really been showing me in this year what the power of prayer can truly do. He’s shown me the rhythm in my life that it should hold and the peace it brings when I take these really hard decisions to Him and trust that His answer is best. He goes before us, preparing the way and we only need to trust that the way He has prepared is GOOD! He’s been teaching me that the path isn’t a long road where I can clearly see the destination. It’s a gradual, step by step walk of obedience with Him. Which if I can be completely honest has held me in this state of fear recently. But it’s only when you release the small bit of control you’re still clinging to and place it into His powerful and loving hands that you begin to see how He truly works everything out for your good and for His glory. Let this be a reminder that He is near and eager to hear from you… the joys, the struggles, the gratitude, and the doubts. You don’t have to filter your heart before bringing it to Him! He welcomes it all with patience, grace, and love. by @mallory_dollar5
