28 🕸️ this last year was full of challenges & change but Gossamer was also born. It is daunting at times to find pockets of joy in the country we live in & the challenges happening here & the world. I have had to learn to survive & practice gratitude & compassion this year so much. I’m so grateful to have music again as an outlet it’s truly been very healing for me! Before this I would have never thought I could perform in front of a crowd - when I was younger I would almost throw up having to perform at a piano recital 🤣 - I’m so grateful for people who have helped me, gave me trust to book in the earlier days, & who have believed in the direction that I’m going! Here’s to another year of loving my pups, djing and producing, & reciprocating the love of people around me 🫶🏼 taken in Minneapolis, Minnesota by @malloryaitchison

It is with a heavy heart as I am writing this. Rest in Paradise to Justin “Juice” Marshall. He was in the crowd during my set Thursday evening, celebrating his 37th birthday & supporting our event just a short time before his life was taken later on that evening. I didn’t know Justin very well personally, but I remember distinctly locking eyes and singing out to him in the crowd not too far back from the front of the stage. My set was filled with throwbacks, which I learned Justin enjoyed as well & incorporated into his personal DJ style. He can be seen in videos in the crowd dancing and singing. In hearing from his loved ones, he had a magnetic energy & was full of life. He made everyone around him smile and deserved so much more time. Police are still looking for answers on who is responsible, any information is helpful. Slide 2 contains information regarding where it happened and time of day, etc. Any information, even if it seems small is helpful!

It has shaken me to know our community lost another life to gun violence, the same evening we were dedicating our event to a beloved, sweet girl named Kayli Arseth who also had her time cut short on this earth as well. In my bio, I am also supporting a local organization to Minnesota called ‘Protect Minnesota’, who is dedicated to educate, legislate, and advocate the end of gun violence in our communities.

The last slide contains a fundraising link to support Justin’s loved ones during this unimaginably difficult time. I will also have this link in my bio as well. I’m sending all my love & healing energy to his family & know that Minneapolis and the music scene is behind you. 💚💜 #LLJ #LLK by @malloryaitchison
