@runtherut 2026!!! 🔥 i’m very honored and grateful to be one of the course photographers for the second year. everyone who runs this race is absolutely nuts and the coolest person i know - full stop. — this time last year i was working through one of the darkest periods of my life. i was very confused and hurt and felt often like the universe had it out for me. i had just crashed my bike, fractured my ankle, and gotten a truly disgusting ear infection. i had just quit a film job and felt unsure about my career and where i fit in as an artist in montana. i was 30 lbs heavier physically and carrying around a lot of emotional weight and sadness. in the middle of all of that - photographing this race made me feel excited to be alive. watching accomplished mountain athletes, regular folks, and many of my friends challenge themselves and experience all of the joy and turmoil that comes with a type 2 fun adventure made me hopeful for the first time in weeks. i got to use my body and brain and eyes and heart and photograph people in tough and triumphant moments. it was a rung in the ladder that helped me climb out. i didn’t run this weekend but i’m very proud of the work i did. and i’m proud of everyone at the start line and every moment after. i hope you’re proud of yourself, too ♥️ taken in Big Sky, Montana by @mallorygregan

contentment is an act of rebellion, yall. don’t forget it 🖤 — keep trying to say something about life these days - about how good it all is - i’ve learned how hard it can feel and it taught me to cherish when it’s easy. really trying to look around and pause sometimes and enjoy how grateful i feel. there’s chaos and pain everywhere that deserves attention. but then so do my friends and my health and my house and a good meal and a lil treat and my favorite song and a good hair day and a funny text and someone doing me a favor and cute dogs and sunshine and butterflies and trying new things. true suffering is always wanting more and if this is all i ever had in this life i’d be happy, truly. by @mallorygregan

peak mal & the boyz ✨ spring has been busy (weird, awesome) and also fun and expansive and silly and healing. i feel so assured and so right and so connected. i had to fight to get here - to get back into a flow. we wrapped up our first block of classes with @sixthdayfilmacademy yesterday with a few beers and giggles (obvi) and i feel so grateful and happy and proud of this idea and all the support that the montana film community has thrown behind it so far. and very humbled by the help and trust from the boyz when i have big ideas and dreams to make a reality. ill keep working to earn it forever, they deserve it. 🖤 taken in Rocky Mountain Grip & Electric by @mallorygregan
