A death from cancer can be a quick process or a long one, but it is never painless.
Papaw always did whatever treatment he could so that he could hopefully prolong his life here on earth. He fought through rounds and rounds of radiation and always came out on the other side. In the end, God knew when It was time for him to come home.
As heartbreaking as this loss is, what a true blessing it is to know he is at peace. His last days were extremely tough and painful. Now there is no more pain for him, no more hurting. Praise God!
He was always there. At every sporting game, piano recital, and big event in my life, he showed up. What a true blessing it is that God has given me such a wonderful family and support system throughout my life.

I’ll never take for granted our fishing days drinking Dr Pepper, card games we’ve played, and Mac and cheese and ice cream days. What a blessing it has been to not know life on earth without him for 21 years.

I am comforted knowing he is in the arms of a wonderful savior now.
