🥹🎓 His last first day of high school…

And here I am, trying to hold back tears! From Kindergarten to now I’m watching him step into his senior year. ❤️ You spend years teaching them, protecting them, loving them, and helping them grow, only to realize one day that the little boy’s you raised are becoming men right before your eyes.

I’m so proud of you pop! No matter how grown you get, you’ll always be one of the little pieces of my heart walking around outside of me.

Ending this trip with a dedication to the ones we love was the most beautiful gesture. 🧡

Thank you, Niesh and Tynise, for making sure Cali was a part of this trip and for continuing to keep his memory alive. It truly means more than words can express.

This was the hardest trip I’ve ever taken, but you all made it so special. My brother was always such a big part of these trips, and I honestly couldn’t have gotten through it without every single one of you. Even though Cali wasn’t there with us physically, I felt his presence in so many moments. Ending our trip by celebrating and remembering him was something I’ll carry with me forever. Thank you all for loving my brother the way you do and for loving me through one of the hardest seasons of my life. I am forever grateful.

I want to thank everyone for the love, support, and for letting me cry on your shoulders without ever making me feel judged for how I grieve. You all handled me with so much compassion, patience, and care, and I will never forget that.

Family is also the friendships you create and the people who show up, love you through your hardest moments, and carry you when you can’t carry yourself. As we revealed your headstone. Standing there looking at your name carved in stone made me so emotional. It felt like another reminder that you’re gone even though a part of me still expects to hear your voice see your smile or get one more chance to tell you how much I love you. People say a headstone brings a sense of closure, but I don’t think there will ever be closure when it comes to losing you. It simply marks a place where the world can see your name while I carry your memory everywhere I go. I miss you in the big moments and the small ones. I miss our talks and the ones we don’t get to have the memories we don’t get to make and the version of life where you were still here with us. There are days when the weight of your absence feels impossible to explain and then there are days when I can smile because I can still hear your laugh in my mind. No stone could ever tell the story of who you were. It could never hold your spirit, your heart, your humor, or the love you gave so freely. Those things live on in the people who knew you and loved you. I hope you know that not a day goes by that you aren’t thought of. Not a day goes by that you aren’t missed.
