Dead people do send signs.

Keira died right before Christmas.

We didn’t know how we were going to survive the day without her.

A friend invited us to their property, and while we stood in a circle talking about Keira and trying to make sense of the unimaginable, we looked down.

At our feet was Keira’s friendship bracelet.

Not a bracelet like hers.

Her bracelet, that she made…

On a property she had never been to.

They are always helping in small ways and extraordinary ways.

Keira LIVED!

Keira’s videos reached over 15 million people last month, and so many people keep asking about her.

Writing all the amazing things about Keira feels impossible because I would never stop writing.

So instead, I created this post for the people who know her and love her can share too.

I’ll pin it to the top of the page so new people can learn more about Keira through the stories of those who love her.

Keira lived a very full life in her 15 short years. Our family often jokes that we’re still waiting to reach an age where we can be as wise as her.

If you know Keira, please use the comments to share stories, memories, or anything you’d like to share about her.

And I know there are many people who never met Keira on Earth who are deeply connected to her. I’d love to hear from you too.

After Keira died, it felt impossible to imagine our family ever going anywhere again without her.

But she kept sending signs and reminding us that we still needed to LIVE.

She kept leading us back to Hawaii, even though I did not want to go. I finally looked up the cost of the trip.

I immediately decided not to go. There was no way I was spending that much money to be miserable in Hawaii without my daughter.

The very next day, we received an unexpected check in the mail for the EXACT amount of the trip. It was a refund from a mortgage company we had in 2012.

She literally sent us the money 💜

So we went.

And yes, it was hard.
But she continues to show us how much she is still right here…
and that joy is still possible. 💜

She was free. It was us left here to feel the pain.

This was very clear to me immediately after the knock on the door.

I could feel her with me and a ok sense of peace for her, but definitely not for us…

I didn’t really know much about this before she died. I never thought about the afterlife. This was just a deep knowing in that moment… Which I have zero doubt that she was right there with me in that moment.

There is so much peace in knowing that she is OK…and today I know that my family is ok too.

Her death has completely changed our entire family. We are completely brought to our knees, but also completely expanded to connect with Keira beyond her death and so much more has opened up for us, and that is a lot of what I share here.

Death is not the end…but also we don’t get to skip the pain of the grief.

Grief is a great expander…

We can connect beyond death.

The way we communicate just changes.

There are so many ways to stay connected. Below is one of the first practices that changed everything for me.

Early on, I started writing to Keira in my journal. Over time, I realized she could respond through signs, synchronicities, people, nature, and a deep inner knowing.

Here’s how to try it:

• Grab a journal that’s just for them or use the one you already write in.
• Write to them every day, even if it’s only a few sentences.
• Talk to them like you always did before.
• Tell them about your day.
• Tell them how much you miss them.
• Ask them questions.
• Ask them to show you they’re with you in a way you’ll recognize, or ask for a specific sign.
• Then go live your life and stay open.

Don’t spend the day searching for an answer. Just notice what naturally shows up and remember they are ALWAYS with you.

The response might come through a conversation with someone, a song, something in nature, a sign or synchronicity, or a deep knowing that feels like your own thought.

People saying grief lasts forever scared me…because how would I survive this pain forever?

The intensity of early grief had me not able to really think straight…my emotions were all over the place and scary…going from screaming crying to numb and staring at the wall.

Early grief and especially is so intense. And thinking it would always be like this made sense because my child had died…

When people were saying “grief lasts forever” I was sure the intensity was never going to let up… It’s hard to access anything calm when you are in that level of pain.

But it did get better…and I always remind myself that all I have to do is get through the moment I am in. Emotions come and go and we should feel it all.

And really I made this post for those in the intensity of grief…that it will get better and your person is still right there with you trying to help.

I know there are so many of us having these experiences.

From people who have felt this connection their entire lives to those who are just beginning to experience it after the death of someone they love.

Let’s normalize talking about it. So when someone doesn’t understand, or tells us it’s not real, we know we’re not alone.
