To all the amazing supporters of Mama Chow's Kitchen,

We are bouncing from our current location on Hawthorne at the end of 2026.

In the mean time, please come support our cart family , all the amazing bartenders and baristas.

Our 2 year tenure here at this location has been an epic experience, especially after returning from my serious accident in 2024.

Things will remain the same as always, just a new location to be determined. Same vibe, same energy and same love.

Talk about being excited, nervous, star struck, anxious and totally blown away.

Even after 10+ years of operating a food cart, wrapping Dumplings/Wontons, 10s of 1000s of them, breaking down wings, 10s of 1000s of lbs., stir frying noodles, one at a time...I still get nervous before any service.

I still worry that someone will not enjoy what I do. Why?! Maybe because I am human. Actually it's probably the fact that I would hate to disappoint someone with a meal.

I am not perfect, I just hope to create magic with a meal, a positive experience that someone will enjoy and remember.

MAMA CHOWS! We are trying the Portland Wing Week special at @mamachowskitchen in Southeast Portland and GOOD LORD 🔥 With just a few days left in wing week, this spot is an absolutely MUST if you love a crispy, saucy, soy, garlic, spicey wing!

Our first time at Mama Chow’s was just a week or so ago, where we had a sneak peek of these wings, plus some of their dumplings, as part of fried chicken week. It was amazing seeing the final version of these wings all sauced up!

Here’s the thing. They are crispy. They are juicy. The sauce is bold, sweet, sticky. There are little shreds of fried ginger. Saffron threads? Idk. But this was an insane experience 🤯

I know I’m not alone in thinking this might be the best wing of the week. If you’re hitting one more spot this week, I recommend Mama Chows. Don’t worry they’ve got indoor seating inside @steeplejackunion (some delicious brews as well!)

WINGS: 10/10

MAMA CHOW’S! Next up is the celebrated @mamachowskitchen for this week’s fried chicken week with @theactualportland 🐔 This was a longggg time coming: Mama Chow’s is known to have some the BEST wings in Portland. LFGGGGG!

This wonton was insane. Crazy hot out of the kitchen, super super crunchy, and damn, the flavor was on point. Super savory, great umami filling that was solid on its on and heightened by the chili sauce on the side.

Honestly though, the star for me today were these chicken wings. Jeff was kind enough to give us a little sneak peek into wing week next week by @portlandmercury 👀

These weren’t the final version but goooood Lordy. I have had some exceptional wings in Portland and these were a clean top spot. Perfectly juicy, very nice level of fry and crunchy exterior, and it had these sweet, savory flavor. Their classic sauce on the side was next level.

Literally could go for another round of these like right now 🤣

WONTON: 8.4/10
WINGS: 9.2/10

Hey yall! Some updates and programming for this week:

Mama Chows @mamachowskitchen is taking part in fried chicken week, so $10 wings on the back lot. Chicken 🍗 chanterelle fried wontons!! Grab em while you can.

Big weekend of football starting tonight, we have 2 new flat screens going in and will have all the major games on, open early for college and NFL with specialty coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and $9 mango mimosas.

Trivia will be running tonight (Thursday) alongside the NFL action starting at 7pm.

Nice Time is rolling @nicetime.pdx and introducing some stellar new seasonal dishes, check in and check out the new wares.

Lastly, Negroni week is coming, and we’re tweaking our popular Perfect Angel, come check it out in preparation. Never been a better time!
