“Pennies from Heaven” appeared on the rain soaked pavement today from a beloved friend who knows the magic that pennies hold for me. Throughout my 40 years while my dear mother was living, each birthday we received shiny pennies for the # of our age. Those pennies held infinite magic and hope in those copper coins, more than all the riches in the world. They represented the intangible life lessons and gifts my mother instilled in me to this day.
My last set of pennies was on my 40th Birthday, 21 years ago. Even as Parkinson’s Disease ravaged her body, she counted those shiny pennies with her trembling hands, determined to continue the tradition. To this day, I see the magic in each penny I find, heads or tails, and it’s a little gift from Heaven.

Thank you dear @latenightwriter for sending “pennies from Heaven” to brighten my Mother’s Day, and honoring her memory so precious to me. Whether in Heaven above or on earth, mothers leave an indelible legacy of love and hope. I miss mine every day, but I’m so thankful for the mother I am and hope to continue to be, because of her light and life. 💫 Happy Mother’s Day to all who mother, mentor, guide, and inspire others. ❤️ taken in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma by @mamaclemokc
