Kids get sick! It's normal and your immune system will do the trick ! So while it's hard to see your kiddo with illness know that you're not alone ! Wash hands , get a good night sleep and stay home when sick. This too will pass!!! #pediatrician #coldseason #truenorthpediatrics #immunesystem #healthykids by @mamadochl

You don’t have to be a mental health expert to make a difference in a young person’s life.

Sometimes, prevention starts with noticing that something has changed. Checking in. Listening without judgment. And being willing to ask directly about suicide when you’re concerned.

A few things every adult can do:
💙 Notice changes in behavior or signs of distress.
💙 Ask directly about suicide if you’re worried.
💙 Help young people connect with trusted adults and mental health professionals.
💙 Secure firearms and medications to reduce access to potentially lethal means.

You don’t need all the answers. You do need to be willing to show up.

If you or someone you know needs support, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

I’m joining @T4CIP for Youth Suicide Prevention Day of Action because prevention takes all of us. @dr.maneeshaagarwal @loislee70 @ameracadpeds

Having a sick kiddo is hard and it's OK to break routines when your kids are sick! Get that fluid in however you can, more screen time than usual or more cuddles . It's ok! You'll get back on track on the other side ! #pediatrician #fyp #coldseason #healthykids by @mamadochl

Car seat safety! Keep your infants in the appropriate rear facing seat until age 2. And til 4 in a full five point harness . Only then can they move into a booster seat if they meet height and weight requirements . And they need to stay in a booster until they are 4 feet 9 inches tall! And no front seat til age 13! Next up I'll talk about what your infant shouldn't be wearing in their car seat! Stay tuned ! #pediatrician #trafficsafety #carseat #healthykids by @mamadochl

I'm a week late for traffic safety week but it's never too late to remind you to be safe! Wear your seatbelt and make sure your kiddos are in the correct kind of child restraint ! Oh and backseat til 13!!!
And now I'm putting down my phone cause I'm getting carsick ! More tips soon! Safe travels ! #seatbelt #childsafety #pediatrician by @mamadochl

Pediatricians don't recommend cold meds for kids because they really don't have any efficacy and can have serious side effects. So steer clear, stick to symptomatic relief and cuddles ! #pediatrician #cough #parenting #truenorthpediatrics by @mamadochl
