Another beautiful cow day. My heart is full and my cup runneth over. @austinfarmsanctuary backstory: they were already kind of mad at me because they only got two bags of pellets before this (they usually get 4) so they totally thought I didn’t give them hay either and when I let them out, they all looked at me angrily mooing like “Hay Lady! What gives?” And they didn’t believe me or my hand gestures directing over to the far end of the pasture until I walked them over there. Cow day 💪🚜 This was bale 2/4 today. I’m so lucky to have the privilege to do this regularly. Day 2 and 3 was mostly driving around and visiting friends and family. Met up with @reynabdaos_ at this placed called RAW ASF and it was another knock out of the park for food. From bowls, to burgers, this place literally had everything and you wouldn’t even know it’s completely vegan because it just looks like a smoothie bar. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS 🤤 went and visited @leticia_and_frank and a few other coworkers back at Stanford CCSB and also went on Day 3 before I left because I had to see Dr. Chen (I was her designated MA for years and we had such a great relationship). I sent out a message right before getting into town about going out to dinner and these were just the folks who could make it last minute. I saw around the table in awe and joy, feeling the love and my friends I have missed so much. I’m so incredibly lucky to have such amazing friends and people in my life 😍💚🥹 my cup runneth over with the love I felt. After dinner some of the dance fam snuck over to Mission College to visit our dance guru @dancewithceech and wanted to share our love of dance and experience to the next generation. @e_s4nsan used to be on the Ad 😅😂 as we tell our children 🥹 I had such an amazing trip filled with love and laughter, I needed it for sure 💚 I’m definitely missing things since I basically didn’t sleep for 3 days 😅 by @mamajfromthebay

Day 1/3 of my whirlwind trip home 🥰💚 tears filled my eyes as I flew into the valley for the first time in years. I have missed seeing the mountains, trees of all sizes, and of course my family. Day 1 started off great with an amazing vegan meal from @meritvegetarian and it was so hard to choose (spoiler alert, we went again the following day too) but I was so surprised with the amount of food this place had. Everything was family style and had the love and deliciousness like it was made with care. Met up with another friend who got to experience this plant based place for the first time also and really enjoyed it! After driving around and getting unpacked, we picked up my cousin @jaxsoncottrell to hit up the @sanjosesharks game!!! I have been dying to go to a game and their win streak continued with a phenomenal 7-5 win and what a nail biter game it was too! I managed to find a place that served plant based burgers in the stadium too! Thank you @sap for having compassion and offering cruelty free options! It was an amazing experience and almost felt like a dream where I got to do favorite things with people I haven’t seen in years but oddly felt so normal like I never left. It was so good to see my mom and actually get to hug her again 🥹💚 That’s just Day 1 💚🤟🥰 by @mamajfromthebay

Finally got to see Hamilton! I’ve never seen it and this is my first broadway show here in Austin. Nothing like a lil solo date and a show ☺️💖 very awesome show and super grateful I got to see it live! taken in Bass Concert Hall by @mamajfromthebay

I felt a wave of peace this afternoon after watering some plants and just taking a moment to chill after an exhausting past couple of days. I really love the space that I’m in now. After a really intense few years, and constantly on a journey of healing (and finding peace within myself again), I found myself looking at Luna. For those who don’t know Luna is deaf and but is very perceptive to so much. She also however is a heavy sleeper with sound but of course can feel the slightest movement. I was watching her sleep and hearing her cute little snores and appreciating the joy she brings into my life and the lessons of patience I learn every day when sometimes I just gotta be on “Luna time”. I found myself taking this unnecessarily cinematic video but also to document how wonderfully peaceful she looks, appreciate the time I have with her, encapsulated in a video for years to come. But being a rescue and with a crazy “gotcha” story (for another time) I really don’t know how old she is, nor know how much time I have left with her (but do we ever know how much time we have left with the people we love?)
Anyways, this is the video I took and I actually realized I loved hearing the tarot reading in the background (shoutout to @sacredknowledgetarot ) because it actually motivated me to post this and share. It’s a documentation for me, but sharing a message with you all to have patience with those you love— we never know how much time we have left with them. Also to love animals unconditionally, they just want to be loved, just like we do. I couldn’t imagine why anyone would ever want hurt an animal, so it inspired me to find creative food choices and alternative products to avoid animal cruelty and exploitation. It’s all a learning process but we have to be willing to witness these moments that life teaches us. #synchrodestiny #veganfortheanimals #peace by @mamajfromthebay
