After a lot of reflection, I’m taking a step back from Mama Moon, but it’s not a total goodbye.

I’ve poured so much love into every cake and every order, but I’m a mom first, working out of our home, with two little ones and no childcare and to be fully transparent…I just don’t have the capacity to keep pouring myself into a full order load. I was taking way more orders than I could handle, completely burning myself out. I can’t operate at that level, pour love and magic into my creations and still show up the way my kids need me to. It’s become CHAOS. I love building connections and I want to do beautiful things for people, and that desire to say yes to everyone has caught up with me.

An unfortunate recent interaction also reminded me that I have to be selective about who I give my personal information to. I work at our home and I have to be safe.

So here’s what this looks like going forward, I’m simplifying things - the website is coming down and I’m stepping away from regular weekly orders. If you are a past client or a personal friend and a cake works for my schedule and my season of life, I will make it for you with my whole heart…but I’m done with the hustle version of this. My Instagram will still be up and I will still post as I create.

As for what’s next? There are some things brewing. I am a forever student of life, I’m always reaching toward the next thing to learn and explore. I am after all a cancer, I change with the tides ( and the moon 😉)
I have different passions and a ton of education, experience, and certifications in various areas and to me thats the beauty of being human - having a beautiful, ever-evolving life … being able to change our minds when the timing calls. I’m giving myself permission to follow where my desires and the fun lead next.

Before I wrap this novel up, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single person who has ever ordered a cake and supported & believed in what I was creating.
Here is to honoring different phases 🌕
Love always, Mama Moon by @mamamoonbakery

Pull up a chair. Light the good candles, you know, the ones you’ve been saving. Use the good plates. There will be cake & blackberry jam and flowers on the table…but mostly there will be laughter, and the people you love most, and the kind of evening you want to live inside forever. These are the moments that matter 🌿🌸 by @mamamoonbakery

When this mama reached out about a dinosaur themed birthday cake, my first thought was oh no… I don’t make cakes like that.

But the more we talked, I realized… my style was exactly what she was looking for 🤍

It reminded me how easy it is to compare, especially in such a creative space. But there truly is room for all of us - different styles, different magic, different people we’re meant to create for.

My frosting may never be perfectly smooth, and I’m not known for intricate piping… but I love working with fresh flowers, herbs, and creating flavors that make people say “omg” with their mouth full of cake.

I love that my cakes feel homemade, because they are. 🥹
They look, feel, and taste like the person who made them loves you very much 🤍✨
