Her first stroller ride to today- saying good bye to our @uppababy - this was the first gift we got after sharing we were going to be parents. And as a NYC kid, and a kid whose parents bring her EVERYWHERE this stroller was everything. It’s gone everywhere with us, on every adventure, it’s held tears and laughter and so many messes. Its kept her entertained, warm, cool, cozy, comfy- it was always full of snacks. This stroller was so important to our lives. It gave us freedom and adventure- we called it the tank because it could handle anything. This stroller has been so well loved. A stroller is so much more than a stroller when you live here. No one warns you how bittersweet it is to let it go. We have a big kid now. The girl who we prayed would walk, would run, would dance now does that all over her city. I never would’ve shown a video like this, or even got in the ball pit because I would’ve been thinking about how my hair looks awful, I don’t look my best etc. but life doesn’t wait for you to always feel comfortable. And motherhood certainly doesn’t. I refuse to live like that anymore. I want to continue to choose to jump in every ball pit that my kid wants.
(Even though I feel like I’m guaranteed to bring home whatever 36 plagues are in there)

The signs were there. Her sleep was all over the place. She was getting frustrated a lot. Crying a lot. I went to bed Monday night thinking what’s going on? Since before the holidays we’ve been non stop and if that wears on me it definitely wears on her. So on Tuesday I woke her up and said wanna stay home and play with mommy? Her face lit up and I knew it was the right choice! We enjoyed our day together so much! The best part of parenting is you make the rules! And rules can still be fun!
