Started loving myself so hard that I’m not longer concerned about weirding people out and am more focused on ✨weirding people in✨

Because life is short..
Personally I’m gunna live until I’m 104 years old.. I got a lot of time ahead of me.. but even one second of dulling myself down to appease others, is far too much.

I’d rather laugh than look good!!! And connecting with others with this same wholesome mindset is one of the goals 💃🏻

We like to dance and have a joke over here.. But we also talk a lot about mental health.. We talk openly about our struggles, our downfalls, our failures.. Because it’s IMPORTANT.

Not because it’s cute or trendy because.. I mean fuckin’ look at it.. anything but cute.. But because if I was consuming THIS type of content when I was a new Mum.. alone with a newborn, not knowing wtf to do.. I would’ve felt better. Period.

Just for one second of my scrolling, I would’ve seen a real mother in a tough moment, crying and saying that it’s hard.. I would’ve felt seen.. and hopeful. Not hopeful like
“Oh it gets better, it gets easier” (that’ll be my content one day, I swear it 🤭) but hopeful like
“Okay I’m not a terrible Mum.”
”Other mothers also don’t like every single moment of this absolute shit show..”
“Other Mums also don’t have everything together.”

Not “I HATE BEING A MUM! I AM OVER THIS!” But
“I love my babies so much.. I just want to do my best but my god is it hard..”

If your laundry pile still isn’t folded, if your dishes aren’t done, you haven’t washed your hair in a week, you don’t even know WHERE your hair brush is.. You’re so not alone..

You don’t have to be on top of everything, all the time, to be a good Mum.

You don’t have to love every minute of it, to be a good Mum.

You just have to keep showing up with love and trying your best, to be a good Mum, Mama.

And if you’ve ever found yourself crying, beating yourself up for not being good enough for your family.. Remember that shitty parents don’t do that.

I’m here to show you the calm and the chaos, the good, the bad, the ugly..

Because we can not heal with lips sealed.

And god yes, it’s heavy, Mama.. I’m right there with you. But no one can carry it like us.. so let’s get it done 💪🏻

I never wanted to be a stay at home Mum.. having kids was really not in my plan, it’s not what I thought I wanted..

But becoming a Mum saved me. In so many ways. I have never handled stress well but I now have the most fulfilling reason to be stressed.. to struggle.. to be tired, tapped out.

I am living a life that I once thought would be so boring and dull and it’s so beyond any of that 🤣 Monotonous? Yes. Repetitive? Very..

But the giggles, the cuddles.. the hilarious moments.. Watching them learn and grow.. rapidly 🥲 The feeling of being someone’s entire world.. their safe place.

Your arms literally being their favourite place..

Your job literally being just to love your children with everything you have.. and keep them happy and healthy.

I didn’t think I was cut out for this and some days I still don’t. But today? Today I got this..

I had a really beautiful childhood but I craved a far deeper connection to my extended family than what was possible or what I was blessed with.

So watching my children form such strong bonds with their Aunts, Uncles, cousins and grand parents is so very healing and comforting to me.

Most things in this world are replaceable. But time isn’t. And sometimes we forget it’s the most valuable thing we will ever have ❤️

don’t run to be fast or to lose weight.

I run to feel strong in my mind and my body.

I run to prove my old self wrong.

I run because it’s the closest I can get to meditation.

But more than anything, I run because these legs that I spent years hating.. this body that I spent too long neglecting.. has to last me my whole life and I’m going to live until 104 years old, so like.. I’ve got a while to go yeah?

I have a fair few bad habits so excuse the f**k out of me for being proud about maintaining a healthy one..

If you’re not an Aussie, you mightn’t be aware that we have birds here called Magpies. They are incredibly common and usually very peaceful but in Spring.. they are in season.. they viciously protect their nests at all costs.

To the extent that some parks are simply off limits.

If you’re riding a bike, you wear a helmet with something sticking out the top to try and deter them from swooping you.

Every town I’ve ever been in puts signs up every Spring, in every park where Magpies reside (which is basically every park)

Because the minute it turns Spring.. even a few weeks before, like clock work - These birds become really dangerous and territorial.

I’ve seen people knocked off their bikes, pecked to pieces.. purely for being too close. I saw a mail man the other day fighting for his damn life, using a towel as a propeller above him.. He knows what’s up.

However.. the flip side of these amazing creatures is that if they have incredible facial recognition.. So if you feed them all year round, they will not swoop you or chase you or be threatened by you at all. I find this really beautiful…

Even a wild bird, in its most heightened and volatile form recognises give and take more than some humans. They recognise that kindness and selflessness is worth being left alone for…

Anyway moral of the story - It’s Magpie season, be careful friends, animals are usually better than humans..

And also, protect your nest at all costs, in all seasons.

I just didn’t want to do anything today.

I’ve let everything build up around home and in my mind, that I’m so overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.. I think I’ve identified it as burn out. As well as our baby teething and not sleeping well — it’s just been a lot. I’m exhausted.

In the words of Bilbo Baggins
“Like butter scraped over too much bread” IYKYK.

I’ve not been eating well but today I nourished and moved my body and turned my day around.

Sometimes it isn’t always possible but I like to remind others that sometimes it is ☕️
