Messy donut face. Incredible concentration taking everything in around him. What's left of his chubby toddler fingers playing with the straps of his suspenders quickly becoming too small. I hope I remember the feeling of holding his tiny hand in mine long after he's let it go for the last time.

It is wishful thinking to imagine my children will want to gallop barefoot through the Canola for the rest of their lives.
To fantasize for time to freeze and our days be filled with mountain top picnics, flower fields and cozy rainy days reading board books.
I imagine those children trapped in my blissful dreamy world would eventually long to grow up...
So I tuck that wish into the folds of my heart.
Instead I yearn for them to one day grasp my time wrinkled hands, to search my aged eyes, and recall those golden endless fields. The way the dirt felt like flour and smelled like earth. In my new dream they will simply want to reminisce with me.

Holding hands and singing. What do your kids like to sing? I often hear remnants of Disney movies (especially Frozen), Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and This Little Piggy. My oldest just realized that when the little piggy goes to Market, they are not going shopping. Now she says, this poor little piggy goes to market and I say, let's just call him Bacon 😂😂 by @mamathree3

Canola has to be one of the prettiest crops we grow 🏵️🏵️
Fun fact nobody asked for, not only is Canola gorgeous when growing but Canola oil comes from pressed canola seeds and is the world's healthiest cooking oil. It is a rich source of vitamin E, cholesterol free and contains the least saturated fat of any common cooking oil. by @mamathree3

Okay, so we had a heated debate the other day whether or not raisins belong in cinnamon buns. I am pro raisin. I like my buns slathered in cream cheese icing and filled with copious amounts of soft raisins. What about you? Do you think raisins are a cinnamon buns allie or enemy? by @mamathree3

We took this photo while on a staycation at the end of 2020. It was a difficult year for everyone, especially my kids. The three oldest were suddenly thrown into a world with topics much bigger then they were. Activities and social avenues abruptly stopped. My youngest came into this world during the Covid lockdown in April. Masks, sanitizer and staying in the truck with mom and dad while the other parent ran in to get groceries was her regular world. She never got to go to the pool until we stayed at this hotel. We signed up for a time slot and slipped our masks on to make the trek to the pool. We had the area to ourselves. And when her toes touched the water, I was gifted a wide open grin and unrestricted endless giggles. I remember the overwhelming feeling as a mom, that lost so many moments because of Covid, that in this moment, my kids were going to be okay. That even if we had to work a little harder - we were going to give them those childhood memories. by @mamathree3

This was supposed to be a throwback Thursday but hashtag momlife. Yesterday my youngest was sitting beside me as we worked on a craft. She was so proud of her new found independence, she happily proclaimed, "I'm growing up." Those three words felt heavy. I sucked in air between my teeth as I forced a smile and gave her a squeeze, "That's right baby, you are growing up." I remember reading baby books and pouring over forums and blogs in preparation for having kids. Planning the crib we would use, the stroller we would push and the baby carrier we would wear. It feels like just yesterday I was picking out a baby bag - a baby bag that celebrated it's tenth year of ownership this winter. Many firsts are now behind us - first time standing, first steps, first words. And I know there are many more firsts to come. First job, first drive, first date ... but those baby firsts... they make me catch my breath every time. And I'm lost in a sentimental storm. by @mamathree3
