First piece of the year titled “Pacific Grove”.

It’s a dining table made of Old-growth Redwood felled in the 1940s in Humboldt County, CA, then sourced in Monterey County. It was a 9x9x12’ structural beam, I was told, once lived in Monterey Peninsula Country Club until a fire deemed the integrity of the building unworthy, and demolished portions of it. This is its second life. Or third. Or twenty-second.

This table is my love letter to the Central and Northern Coast of California, and what it’s given me.

Coast redwood are endemic to California and Oregon, making them monumentally important ecologically and culturally.

The material boasts spiritual gravity. My texture motif resembles the waters below the cliffs of Big Sur. Zoom into the legs to see a glimpse of the stars you may witness while sleeping off of the PCH.

This is my favorite work yet.

I made a stool for @canyoncoffee, and took a work/inspo/bday trip to New York. Dia Beacon once again flipped me upside down with its grandeur and shook out my lunch money. Wonderful city yall got here.

Nightstand in Cherry with Old-Growth Redwood faces and feet. Twinkly stars. Excited to see the cherry darken to better match the redwood. Bye. by @mambo_____jambo

Feeling magical today!
Huge thank you to @_sightunseen_ for selecting me amongst amazing artists and designers to be featured in this year’s American Design Hot List. To see my work alongside friends and peers I look up to is elating, and stoke worthy; my cup runneth over.
