Meet. Mambo.

Mambo Collective and the line of PuLSe parties have been running for almost a year now. We thought it was time for a reminder of what we stand for, who we are and what are goals are.

Mambo Collective has always been from the youth, for the youth, about the youth. It has always been about inclusivity, safe environments, supporting local artists and creating a local scene.

In 7 days, on August 1st, you can come and experience it for yourself.

An event like this doesn’t happen without the people behind it. We want to take a moment to thank everyone who contributed to making this edition possible.

A special thank you to our partners:

Wilma @wilmatienen - for providing the location and giving us the space to create this event.

Werner Sabo @werner_sabo - for the scaffolding, stage construction and all the help during the buildup.

Pioneer @pioneerdjbelgium - for providing the DJ equipment and sound system that made the music possible.

VSL @vsl_productions - for providing and setting up the lighting that brought the entire venue to life.

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who volunteered. From the first hours of the buildup to the final moments of the night, so many people gave their time and energy to help set everything up, keep things running during the party and make sure everything was taken care of afterwards.

We also want to thank everyone who came, danced, supported the event and contributed to the atmosphere. The people in the room are ultimately what make these nights what they are.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this happen.

1st of August we were able to do something special in Tienen. DIY, local artists, community feeling, a free and affordable event. We are very thankful for all the positive feedback we’ve received. But one of our first thank you’s goes out to our talented dj’s.

For PuLSe III, @ruwbauw designed an open-air stage together with the Mambo Collective team.

The intervention sits within the rectangular hidden garden of an old school. It breaks free from the site’s existing orientation, and together with the surrounding landscape, forms a semi-enclosed space.

A simple scaffolding structure provides room for the artists, the audience, and the technical installations. A textile barrier hangs from it, creating two distinct conditions. These could be read as inside and outside, but because the team made the barrier from semi-transparent fabric, that distinction dissolves. There is no real inside or outside, only two different ways of experiencing the light from the stage.

In less than two weeks, on August 1st, you can come and experience it for yourself.

PuLSe iii * Open Air - Timetable

Tienen’s electronic scene is still young, but it’s growing, and lineups like this are how we build it.

We’re proud to bring together this lineup for PuLSe iii * Open Air: artists from Leuven, Brussels, Zoutleeuw, Antwerp and Tienen itself, spanning UK garage, UK house, Latin club, Jungle, Breakbeat, Funk and 90’s tech house. All playing for one night, in our hometown. Proud to keep pushing this forward with you.

Free entry, 19:00–02:00. Grote Markt 29, Tienen. 1st of August.

A selecta of the junglist movement, dedicated to the massive and the culture. Serving heavy basslines straight from Brussels, with breakbeats that pay respect to both the old and new school.

Brothers Rūn & Slo1 move between Latin club, funk and breaks, carrying percussion with Middle Eastern traces. Rūn was part of PuLSe II, and this time he’s bringing his brother along for a back-to-back set. Expect the kind of shared musical language that only comes from growing up on the same records.

Third time, same team. Tiernan and Excentriek are both based in Antwerp and by now have become regulars in Tienen. Their b2b is built on funk, 90s tech house, electro, disco and a shared taste you have to experience live. Get ready.

As the 1st of August comes closer, the team is working hard, even through the heat. We’re honored and happy that our previous indoor editions got great feedback from all our locals.

This time we’re making the extra effort to deliver an extraordinary open air event. An extra step in the unfolding electronic music scene, here in Tienen. Created by and for the youth and young adults of our hometown.
