We raised $2,671!! Are you JOKING!
Because we had left it so last minute to decide we were going to do it and setting up the page, I only set the goal at $100 as I thought I’d be the only one donating to it. I cannnnot believe so many of you have gotten around us dedicating our run in honour of my mum, Adrienne. And also to Poppy’s mum, Annabel, with her journey through breast cancer. Thank you so so much. It sits with such pride that our run has made a difference. 🩷💜
THANKYOU aswell to the @unitedfirefightersunionsa for having us as last minute additions! Always proud to rep the team ❤️🚒🧑🏼‍🚒
It was my first ever running event, and I finished in the top 100, which is insane! I’m not a runner, but I’m so grateful to get to go running with a bunch of strong women and celebrate a version of Mother’s Day that looked a bit different this year. 💜 by @mamikels

So grateful to attend the National Memorial Service for fire and emergency services personnel in Mum’s honour in Canberra over these last few days. A heavy day to commemorate an incredible life, dedication and sacrifice for her work. Thanks so much for having us @sa_metropolitan_fire_service, you’ll always be a second family to us ❤️‍🔥 taken in National Emergency Services Memorial, Canberra by @mamikels

another szn bitin the dust 😋

i don’t want to talk about how long it look me to take a feature film length of videos down to a bite size five minute something for your viewing pleasure. I also don’t want to talk about the surprise 90 second max on any one audio when trying to export said video and the almost tears that that lead to. what i will say however, is this is definitely a highlight reel of probably the hardest season I’ve ever had. grief is a wild, wild thing that I’ve been learning to navigate in a different way each day. and funnily enough, turns out running away overseas is very much the bandaid metaphor people describe it as; losing usefulness pretty much as soon as you’d need it most, or in my case, as soon as something good or bad happens that you’d usually call home about.
Despite this, this is for the wonderful people who made my season feel a bit fuller, be with 5 rounds of spicy margs, writing vulgar anagrams in Christmas decorations, sharing a hard boiled egg every morning, training with me for exams, analysing star signs or just one of many Sapporo classics at tamashis. The ~weeks~ it took me to edit these clips, made me think of what a lovely problem it is, to have so many happy memories that they can’t all fit in one video. But i hope you enjoyed the ones that did.

I’m two days late to posting this, but I’m sitting in the airport thinking about how lucky I am to know the powerhouse women that I do, that inspire me to be the woman that I am.
May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them. 🩷
