TALA NOA 🌊

Tala Noa is a living bridge between te reo Māori and fa’a Samoa, where ancestral voices meet across Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa.

With our waka Takitimu carrying strong ancestral links to Sāmoa, this waiata celebrates the journeys, languages, and whakapapa that continue to unite us.

Featuring Maisey, Kenzie, Tha Feelstyle, Mo and produced by 10A.

Big mihi to Petrina Togi and Pati Umaga for bringing this collaboration together and allowing it to become part of Heritage Trail 2.

Listen to the full version on Heritage Trail 2.

He waka eke noa. 🌊

TAUTOKO IS OFFICIALLY GOLD. 🥇💛

This one means more than words can say.

Tautoko wasn’t created with the goal of going Gold. It began as a fundraiser for my mum’s tangi and unveiling. That’s why I called the album Tautoko—because I needed support.

This project was me reaching out to the people I’d met throughout my journey, asking them to believe in a vision before there was any proof it would work.

A huge thank you to Aaron, Juse and Hayden at Empire Records for taking a chance on me and backing my very first album. You believed in the vision when it was just an idea.

I’m forever grateful to Creative New Zealand, whose support helped cover travel, studio sessions and the costs of bringing this album to life.

After the success of West Side Hori, I found the courage to reach out to artists I’d admired for years. To my amazement, they all said yes. Working alongside so many people I looked up to on my debut album is something I’ll never take for granted.

To every featured artist, producer, musician and engineer who gave your time, talent and aroha—thank you. This achievement belongs to all of us.

A special mihi to the Teka whānau for trusting me with the legacy of Prince Tui Teka and giving me your blessing after my performance at the Tūhoe Ahurei in Ruatoki. That meant the world to me.

Tautoko became the foundation for everything that followed. It led to an APRA Silver Scroll finalist recognition, a Waiata Māori Music Award for Best Māori Urban Artist, and opened doors I never imagined possible.

Most importantly, thank you to every single person who streamed the album, bought the music, came to a show, shared a song, or told a friend. You carried this album further than I ever could on my own.

This Gold record is not mine alone. It belongs to everyone who stood beside me, believed in the kaupapa, and chose to tautoko the dream.

From fundraising for my mum… to a Gold album.

What a journey.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou katoa. ❤️

PEPEHA🏔️⛵️🌊🛖🧬

What started as a single waiata has grown into something much bigger than music.

This journey has brought together tāne and wāhine, artists, educators, language champions, cultural leaders and practitioners—all standing together to remind us that we are strongest when we stand as one.

To me, hip hop has always been our generation’s whaikōrero. It’s where we tell our stories, speak our truths, carry our whakapapa and leave something for those coming after us. Pepeha became that platform.

I’m incredibly proud to share this journey alongside C33Y, Te Rawhitiroa, Horomona Horo, Te Kahu Rolleston, Te KuraHuia, Mistee K, Neeks and Libby Gray. Every one of them brought their own mana, their own perspective and their own unique gift.

For many of them, stepping into a recording booth and rapping was something completely new. But that was never the point.

I wasn’t looking for rappers.

I was looking for Māori who know who they are. People doing incredible things in their own spaces. People with whakapapa, purpose and natural rhythm. Because our people have always carried rhythm—in our language, our karakia, our haka, our waiata and the way we tell our stories.

Thank you all for trusting the process, stepping into Poutama Studio here in Heretaunga, and creating something that will live on long after us.

This series celebrates the strength of our wāhine, the support of our tāne, the beauty of te reo Māori, and the power of standing together.

He kākano tātou. He taonga tō tātou reo. He mana tō tō tātou pepeha.

Mauri ora. ❤️
