The old logging canal that connects to Dead River a little ways south on the river had hundreds of bird houses hanging from the trees. People would hang them to honor occasions such as graduations or death of family members and pets. Hurricane Irma in 2017 wiped almost all of them out, but they are starting to come back. by @manatee_manor
