Took a major socials break for a while but the one other site I did use is just a straight dumpster fire and I need some way to keep in contact with people.

Deleted a lot of my business posts because I want to keep this more personal. May eventually get the business account back up but who knows.

Have about 50+ unread messages so probably just going to delete them as well, sorry! Needed a clean break and now need a fresh start ❤️ by @mand0lyn

Frankie's rescue posted a few days ago about a poor senior boy who lost his human mom several months ago and sadly was left behind in the house by her family. They needed an urgent foster since he obviously was scared and a little traumatized by the whole endeavour, so here we are!

Shadow is an absolute unit, weighing over 20lbs. When he got out of the carrier he looked like a small bear cub. Initially they thought he was around 15yo but after a vet check he may be closer to 10yo. It only take him a couple hours alone under the bed before he started coming out and demanding pets. He is obviously a very sweet, loving boy, who just wants to cuddle and purrs so loud!! His upper fangs do hang out of his mouth just a little bit and I've caught him bleping several times.

Today we are going to try to get him a good brushing. And hopefully once he has more time to settle and his bloodwork comes back we can slowly introduce him to Indy and Frankie, who have been posted at the door non-stop waiting to meet him.

The next step in my mom's journey with terminal brain cancer has begun. While she enters the "maintenance" phase of treatment, she'll also be wearing an electrotherapy device called Optune Gio. She has to wear it about 18hrs a day and it helps keep cancer cells from replicating. It even can help eliminate cancer cells!

The biggest "negative" is that you have to be completely bald for the arrays to sticks and while you can unplug from the actual device, the arrays stay on with their fun little tail. The positive is that when used alongside the chemotherapy, the average user adds about 2 yrs to their survival rate.

We are still waiting for her body to completely bounce back before starting the next round of chemo but also waiting on insurance approval for immunotherapy (it's off label so insurance isn't covering the drug but will cover the administration fees and the company is supposed to cover the drug, so we will see.

Again, while not curable at all, using all 3 therapies (chemo, electro, and immuno) together have clinically shown to give patients a few extra years to their survival versus the initial prognosis of under 1 yr. Any little thing we can do 🙏🏻❤️

Also had a neurosurgeon follow up yesterday and he said her latest MRI looks as great as it can. Not seeing any changes, minimal swelling which is to be expected, but no visible tumor regrowth yet! We'll keep monitoring with MRIs every 6-8 weeks, so we know when radiation and/or surgery has to come back into play.

Until then, mom just gets to live her best Cyborg Era.

Posted on my story yesterday but icymi...

Wednesday at work I slipped and fell out of the back of my mail truck while reloading packages at my halfway point. I somehow managed to hit the metal grated door frame and bumper before hitting the pavement. I knew if hurt like a mf-er but continued my route and finished it about 3hrs later. By the time I got back to the office and saw the bruising that had started, I told my supervisor I was going to go ahead and get checked out.

4 places later, I ended up at the Emergency Room (not a lot of places will take workman's comp and even fewer will touch Federal). I was there for 8 hours. They did full body xrays and nothing was evident on those, so they sent me for CTs. They also did an ultrasound to make sure no organs were hurt because apparently these types of issues can cause all sorts of bladder problems.

What they found was multiple fractures in my L2, L3, and L4 vertebrae, left hip, and pelvis. (Unrelated to the fall they also found a 8cm mass on one of my ovaries during the ultrasound that I have to follow up on) They told me I was incredibly lucky to not be paralyzed but also could not believe that I was up moving around, mobile, and finished my work day.

I now have to wait a week to get a follow up with the ortho specialist because again... Federal employee workman's comp, nobody wants to touch it. So until then I get to (painfully) sit around and wait. ER doc did say I shouldn't need surgery but am probably looking at a cool 6-12 weeks of recovery time.

So yea...super fun times to be had. If anyone has book, movie, show, etc recommendations, please share them. Also if anyone has had the misfortune of a similar injury and can share care tips, I'd appreciate it ❤️

Side note: I've really been back in my old school Korean music vibe. @drunkentigerjk is just an absolute legend and this song still lives rent free in my head. Some may say I, in fact, had my body rocked 😂😭

Side side note: Check out my tramp stamp I got when I was 15. An absolute antique at this point. by @mand0lyn

42 days of chemo and 30 days of radiation later. It's been a marathon but now we get 4 weeks off before moving on to the next steps.

Birthday tradition of going to the zoo continues. It's free (donation) and never any crowds. Mom and I both haven't really been feeling up to doing much but we both knew this may be the last time we got to do this so persevered ❤️ by @mand0lyn

Today is my mom's 69th birthday! As some of you know, a week before Thanksgiving we found out she had a brain tumor and it was removed the day before Thanksgiving. She recovered from surgery quickly and actually was kicked out of the rehab center early for doing so damn well.

Unfortunately, the tumor turned out to be a glioblastoma. A rare, incurable, terminal type of brain cancer with a short life expectancy. We begin chemo and radiation therapy this week but even with aggressive treatment the survivorship rate over 2 years is only around 5%.

We know there is no beating it but we are going to try to outrun it as long as we can. Anyone who knows my mom knows she's very active and goes above and beyond in everything she does. We've been so blessed to have our circle and community to support us every step of the way.

As long as she feels up to it we're going to try out best to continue going to matches and volunteering where we can. And we truly cannot thank everyone enough for all the well wishes and prayers they've sent our way. So thank you for standing by us during this difficult time. 💙 by @mand0lyn

This is hard. Friday my mom was admitted to the ER following headaches and cognitive issues. Tests quickly showed a large, golf ball sized brain tumor. Wednesday, surgeons worked in tandem to remove it. We spent the night in the ICU and she passed all her tests with flying colours and is recovering well enough that yesterday they moved her to a regular room.

We still are waiting on the lab results from pathology to fully determine the next steps but we know for sure she'll be moving to a rehab facility for a couple weeks before coming home. Chemo and radiation therapy are also on the docket later down the line.

It seems like it came out of nowhere but she's been in good spirits and in great care. She was a bit mad that we had to miss Sunday's match but I brought her good luck charms and my laptop so we could watch the game. She ofc blames herself for the loss since we weren't there.

I'm not particularly the most religious but will gladly take any thoughts, prayers, vibes, energies, anyone wants to send our way. Hold your loved ones a little closer today and hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving ❤️ by @mand0lyn

Battle at the Bowl was absolutely INCREDIBLE. @dimension20show was my gateway into so many other @dropouttv shows and they truly are unmatched.

So thankful that @barolas was able to go with me. We laughed til we cried and got to meet a handful of our favourites.

Thank you @lily_d , @danielle_radford , and @loldwell for taking some time to talk and take pictures!! by @mand0lyn
