The most surreal, incredible, exhausting, love-filled five days of my life. Nothing could have prepared me for any of it, especially how much I could LOVE this little boy. Every time I look at him, I can’t believe I created something so beautiful.

So grateful for our families and friends, for my doula @energydoula_ and the support and peace she brought me throughout labor, and for Chris, who has been a literal angel through every second of this. Watching you become his dad has made me love you in an entirely new way.

I have so many thoughts after yesterday, but mostly just… THANK YOU.

My mom and sister planned the most beautiful baby shower and I honestly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day. Every little detail was so thoughtful, and you could feel how much love went into the whole day. It was filled with so many of the women I adore and I left feeling so grateful.

Pregnancy is such a weird thing. It’s exciting and so so special, but it can also feel lonely sometimes. You’re carrying this little peanut that no one else has met yet, and so much of the experience just stays in your own head and body. Yesterday reminded me that both our little boy and I are already surrounded by so much love.

To my family, my friends, Chris’s family, and everyone who took the time to celebrate our little boy… thank you. Thank you for showing up, for loving him already, and for making me feel so supported. It means more than you’ll ever know.

Chris - thank you for being the person I get to do all of this with. I couldn’t ask for a better partner or dad for our son. I love you a whole lot.

Packing up the bobcat and getting ready for sunflower pickup tomorrow. 🌻

We’ll have fresh-cut sunflowers out front starting at 10am until we run out. Please note that the farm will still be closed tomorrow.

Our fields gave us more beautiful blooms than we could ever enjoy ourselves, so we’d love to share them with as many people as possible. We kindly ask that everyone only take a couple stems so more families can enjoy them too.

Give them to someone you love. Drop them off at a hospital or nursing home. Bring them to a local business. Leave them for a friend. Share them with someone who looks like they could use a little extra sunshine.

The last four years allowed me to create, challenge myself, and grow in an industry that I love so much. It taught me how to be a leader, a teacher, and hopefully someone meaningful to the people around me.

There were a lot of amazing services, celebrations, festivals, guest chef dinners, openings, a closing, and everything in between. But more than anything this chapter gave me a space to grow into myself, surrounded by incredibly talented, passionate, hilarious, hardworking people who made every day meaningful, while doing some insanely cool shit.

Thank you to everyone who was part of it. I’ll carry these years and my appreciation for all of you with me forever.

It feels really surreal stepping into such a different season of life now between a new job and becoming a mom. A lot is changing, but it’s made me really grateful for every person, lesson, and moment that brought me here.

Next chapter (or what feels like a whole ass new book) — tuning inward, becoming the best mother I can be, and pouring my heart into creating a space for community, connection, and really beautiful things at @oakhillfarm.nj taken in Heirloom Kitchen by @mandala.panda

A little sneak peek at Mother’s Day at Oak Hill Farm 🌷

Join us tomorrow from 11am–3pm for a beautiful day at the farm. Come grab a coffee from the café, shop local vendors, browse home goods, pick up local honey and gifts for mom, build your own bouquet, and spend the day with us here at the farm.

The Oak Hill Farm family can’t wait to see you all tomorrow — animals included, obviously!

Yesterday Kodi finished 3 weeks of in-home training with Lane at Kala’s K9s

Kodi has always been a pretty insecure, fear-reactive guy. Since it’s mostly just been him and me for years, I took the easy route. Quiet life. Avoiding situations. Hiking during the day when no one else was around. Loving him where he was instead of really helping him through it.

Taking the jump and committing to training was one of the best things I’ve done for both of us. These weeks weren’t just about commands or reactivity. So many of the lessons were actually for me. I didn’t even realize I’ve been holding the leash wrong this whole damn time with a prong collar that was broken!

Lane is kind, stern, loving, and insanely knowledgeable. Watching Kodi grow more confident has made me more confident too. He’s still my special boy lol but now he has tools and so do I.

If you’re thinking about training, just do it. We spend money on bullshit every day. Invest in your animals. They truly deserve it 🤍
