Happy 102nd Birthday to one of the greatest loves of my life, Connie Converse. Forever muse, I hope you are exactly where you want to be 💕 by @manderglynn
Hi! I’m Amanda! I make puppet shows in my apartment with cardboard, hot glue, and an overhead projector. I started making shadow puppets during the pandemic when I found an old overhead projector on eBay. I had to make theatre in my tiny apartment with whatever I had around me. During that time I discovered Connie Converse. The more I learned about her life the more I felt a kinship. Not because our stories are identical, but because I understand the quiet persistence of creating alone in your bedroom, not knowing who, if anyone, will see it. If you’ve found me because you love puppets and handmade theatre or Connie Converse or little cardboard universes, I’m so glad you’re here. Join me on my patreon for shadow puppet tutorials and more looks behind the scenes of our rehearsal process 💕 by @manderglynn

There’s a moth in the house 🏠 💡 This is the house I grew up in, turned into a hat shadow screen. We had moths in the house all the time and I loved them. “Give them, O mother of moths and mother of men, strength to enter the heavy world again, for delicate were the moths and badly wanted here in a world by mammoth figures haunted!“ - Tennessee Williams, Lament for the Moths #shadowpuppets #cardboard by @manderglynn
