“The Mermaid’s message” mural for @pulpafestival in Montesilvano, Pescara (IT).

This wall represents something we all have to do: Take care of our Oceans and the nature surrounding us.
The algae in the mermaid’s hair (sargasso) represents the precarious state seas are in. The acidity is changing due to the increase of temperature (this can be because of pollution, the interaction with humans, trawl fishing, global warming…)
The little orange fish (well, not that little, it is at least 3m) represents the migration of marine animals trying to find their ideal habitat because of the previous point.

Despite the deep message of this mural I had so much fun painting it 😊

“Summer solstice” mural is done 💪🏽💪🏽

“Be the change you want to see” (2026, Bremen, Germany)

Mandioh’s mural „Be the change you want to see“ shows a woman releasing her final breath, not as a sign of defeat, but as an act of hope. The bubbles of her breath stand for the possibility that remains: that even the smallest action can set a great change in motion. The deep blue around her is the North Sea, a place of beauty, resilience and life; the light in the dark water is a reminder that hope begins with a single ray. In this, Mandioh brings together two concerns of her art: the protection of the oceans and the power of femininity.
Within MURAL CITY – Beauty of Science, Mandioh’s work tells of marine and climate science. The ocean is not an endless resource but a living heart that connects everyone on Earth, and its condition helps decide how we will live in the future.

I find it always difficult to try to explain what a mural means, I just leave a piece of myself in the process. From the sensibility on finding the perfect reference picture, creating the sketch, to then the whole process of production… now that I think about it, a little tear comes out of my eye 🤓💖

“Baltijas nāriņa” – Mandi Oh @mandioh
Roņu ielā 7 apskatāms spāņu mākslinieces Mandi Oh (Amanda Arrou-tea) darbs “Baltijas nāriņa”, kas turpina 2021. gadā Liepājā aizsākto portretu sēriju.
Māksliniece savā daiļradē daudz pievērsusies jūrai, un arī Liepājā radītais darbs stāsta par cilvēka un jūras attiecībām. Šoreiz jūra atklāta kā sievišķīgs, maigs un vienlaikus dzīvības pilns spēks.
“Jūra ir daudz vairāk nekā ainava. Tā ir cilvēku dzīvesveids, kultūra un dvēsele. Ar šo darbu vēlos atgādināt, cik svarīgi ir cienīt un sargāt to, kas mums dāvā dzīvību,” uzsver Mandi Oh.

Māksla, kas paliek pilsētā
Trīs jauno darbu pabeigšana ir vēl viens solis Liepājas ielu mākslas stāstā. No atsevišķiem sienu gleznojumiem pilsētā pamazām izveidojusies brīvdabas galerija, kuru iespējams iepazīt, vienkārši dodoties pastaigā pa Liepāju.
“Mums ir svarīgi, lai šie darbi nedzīvotu tikai mākslas pasaulē. Tie ir domāti cilvēkiem – liepājniekam, kurš katru rītu iet tiem garām uz darbu, bērnam, kurš ierauga kādu detaļu, un pilsētas viesim, kurš sienas gleznojuma dēļ aiziet pa ielu, kurā citādi varbūt nebūtu iegriezies. Tieši tad māksla kļūst par dzīvu pilsētas daļu,” uzsver projekta iniciatori.

At 7 Roņu Street, visitors can discover “Baltic Mermaid”, a mural by Spanish artist Mandi Oh (Amanda Arrotea). The artwork continues the portrait series that began in Liepāja in 2021.

The sea has long been a central theme in Mandi Oh’s work, and her Liepāja mural explores the relationship between people and the sea. Here, the sea is portrayed as a feminine, gentle, yet powerful life-giving force.

“The sea is much more than a landscape. It is a way of life, a culture, and a soul. With this work, I want to remind people how important it is to respect and protect what gives us life,” says Mandi Oh.

Baltijas nāriņa – Mandi Oh @mandioh
Savukārt Roņu ielā 7 spāņu māksliniece Mandi Oh (Amanda Arrou-tea) īstenos projektu “Baltijas nāriņa”, turpinot 2021. gadā aizsākto Liepājas portretu sēriju.
Māksliniece jau daudzus gadus savā daiļradē pievērsusies jūras tematikai un Liepājā radīs darbu, kas atklās jūru citā skatījumā – kā sievišķīgu, maigu un dzīvības pilnu spēku. Gleznojums aicinās domāt par cilvēka attiecībām ar jūru, tās nozīmi pilsētas identitātē un nepieciešamību rūpēties par dabu.
“Jūra ir daudz vairāk nekā ainava. Tā ir cilvēku dzīvesveids, kultūra un dvēsele. Ar šo darbu vēlos atgādināt, cik svarīgi ir cienīt un sargāt to, kas mums dāvā dzīvību,” uzsver māksliniece.
Liepāja kļūst par ielu mākslas galamērķi
Trīs jauno sienas gleznojumu tapšana vienlaikus ir nozīmīgs pavērsiens Liepājas ielu mākslas attīstībā. Tie papildinās pilsētas jau izveidoto lielformāta sienu gleznojumu kolekciju un vēl vairāk nostiprinās Liepājas pozīciju kā vienai no spilgtākajām publiskās mākslas pilsētām Baltijā. Jau tagad ir iespējams apskatīt visu ielu galeriju gida pavadībā īpašā Liepājas ielu mākslas tūrē https://liepaja.travel/darit-un-redzet/liepajas-ielu-makslas-ture-ar-gidu/. Tagad iecienītais maršruts kļūs vēl bagātāks.
No 22. līdz 31. jūlijam liepājniekiem un pilsētas viesiem būs iespēja vērot mākslinieku darbu tapšanas procesu klātienē un sekot līdzi tam, kā pilsētas sienas pārtop par lielformāta mākslas darbiem.

Obra creada en @miaufanzara. Qué lindo proyecto de convivencia, comunidad y generosidad!
Inspirada en este motivo quise dejar una parte de mi corazón; un retrato de mi hermana @xixilibre, que vive a muchos miles km de distancia y es mi ejemplo de mujer fuerte, independiente y de resiliencia ❤️‍🩹

Mural created for @miaufanzara , such a beautiful project involving community, coexistence and generosity!
Inspired by this I decided to leave a piece of my heart portraying my sister @xixilibre who lives some thousand km away. She has always been my example of strong independent woman and resilience ❤️‍🩹
