Can you believe it? Our 100th post ... Wow

Well making it this far I have to say it's been a lot behind the scenes, as I'm sure anyone would expect with each of our personal endeavors.

Today I find myself sojouring in the foot hills between the green and white mountains... It is truly magical.

I had the good fortune to see my family and friends form my childhood. I was very much in good company and spirits!!

Thank you to all the homies, it really is the reason anything makes sense. Moments are truly the greatest treasures in life and I certainly am humbled and greatful for those that I have made, and especially those that I have shared.

Also just want to take a moment to recognize and reflect on my journey so far, this trip did start off with some heavy shit, we hope our boy @manditooo_ heals up soon and is back in action as soon as it makes sense.

Another eventful week, this past week I got a chance to skate with my homie James Bixby which was awesome. We went down to lake Vista for a quick sesh and he managed to land some bangers so keep an eye out for that footy coming out at some point.

Also had fun running into homies at #tampapro2026 I didn't hang out too long but I had to drop by the shop and say hi at least for a bit.

This week's edit features some clips from the game Hylinks 2, big recommend if you like really strange indi games.

The creator Mason Lindroth did an amazing job sculpting, animating and designing this def check out his work, you will be impressed.

My reflection this week is about noise. The chaotic elements of this clip conglomerate sets the stage for my philosophical takeaway, which is centered around the distinction between noise and harmonic information.

Life is really all just noise if you stand back far enough and don't take the time to focus, filter and believe in what you want. The important thing is maintaining that refreshed outlook that helps us find new songs in the whistling winds or to allow ourselves to see something beautiful beyond the calidescope of chaos that is everyday.

In the art we make, I hope you find the beauty in the chaos, this is an example of that. Hope you enjoy.

Happy monDAZE fam!

We wrapped up last week with exactly what my heart needed. We didn't go crazy doing too much really, just did the right amount to nourish the soul.

We had a lot of fun being weirdos and filming silly stuff, honestly I'm very excited about how I can use that footage to tell a complicated message in a very silly way, which I think very much embodies the driving philosophy behind our band @toasterbathbomb_official

Today's edit is more about capturing that candid eye perspective from the wall flower. Nothing too compelling or shocking, just a blur of details smattered on an amorphous still life.

This imagery is significant to what I am trying to capture in this message. I have also overdubbed a rare recording of the famously reclusive director Stanley Kubric.

I paired this overdubbing on the video with the music from a very special band in my heart. The band the Minutemen was very much an underground band whose fame was tragically intertwined with the death of a punk scene legend and guitarist D.Boon.

This band holds significance to me and our band TBB specifically because of my friend @freshhcorduroy who is still my main music confidant. We both compose and bounce ideas off each other but that's not how it started at all lol. It started with a 3rd grade new kid (her) and me, it gets complicated emotionally in the elementary school years together but we were very close nonE the less.

It was like when I was 14 I went to her house and she was sitting with her dad listening to vinyls on the floor.

her dad who in his own right is actually a local music hot shot in my small town - very well acclaimed musician / composer from first wave punk -- now he does more folk and Americana, that day he passed me a record and said "marla says you are playing punk, you might like this", and it was a Minutemen album.

The KUBRIC commentary is about the meaning behind his film, specifically the human zoo concept. I think this pairs nicely with the ethos of skateboarding and punk culture, a kind of reclaiming the zoo society imposes on us.

so last week was another for the books, we had a lot of fun in the studio and had a good sesh skating.

Sean managed to bring some film equipment and we were experimenting with manual distortion effects, I am pretty excited to see how those come out so keep ya eyes peeled lmao.

Also wanted to give a big shout out to the og homie @scottyb813shmf with the SHMF clique, we were really stoked to see that he mentioned and shared a bit about us over the weekend. As artists together, these interactions are truly the moments that tell us it's not in vain, it's IN OUR VEINS.

Scotty actually has more fam history with us than I think most ppl know. We know most ppl recognize Sean and Mando from SHMF, here's a bit more on that history.

Scotty has been an artist / skater / hair dresser since I first met him back in 2009. I actually became homies with his crew through my neighbor @girlthegreat who knew Scotty professionally as she was also an acclaimed hair dresser in the area.

We bonded over fixie bikes and riding together she linked me up with Scotty's krew.

I mention this connected history because it aligns with this post and past week specifically. Scotty's shout out really put it all in perspective.

@girlthegreat is also an incredible mind and artist.

When we met I had only lived in Tampa for about a year. she was truly my first connection to people in downtown Tampa region that were not migrant college students lol.
We did art shows together and she introduced me to many good friends and artists that would surprise you if I listed all of them.

She also introduced me to the composer of the music in this post Andre (@strooch). stroochy is from Hamburg Germany where he currently resides. We stay in touch and have these fantastic video chats that explore like everything under the sun. This past weekend he was working with some beats and sent me a video.

It was really another source of inspiration so I used it in this edit.

It's truly amazing how the web of interactions drive artistic expression and how ppl's fleeting moments together are the real treasures in life. Immortalizing them with art just makes sense. Try it, I dare you

What a week ... Lots of fun but also busy AF

First off let's get ready to say a big happy b day to our bassist / vocalist @manditooo_ show ya boi some love in the comments!!

His b day is coming up so we are gunna try and do some fun shit, keep ur eyes peeled.

Also just a recap from last week, had a chance to link up with my homie Jerry from Illinois who was in town for RRU. He has some really exciting music coming out with his band @rumorhasittunes and on the label @midwestwavesrecords. Def check them out and give a follow if ya can!

It was really fun linking and talking about music together. Jerry is a fantastic musician and audio engineer, I think it's very possible that we may do something together in the near future. If u know Jerry he is an all over the place type character lol so his music is also that in a fucking great way. I say that bc we mesh in a very unexplored area of music, his compositions also tap into that vein.

TBB is really excited about the songs we have coming out, still looking at how we want to do it officially, so talking with a like minded artist / engineer really helped give me some good ideas.

Also had some fun skating with my brotha from anotha motha Jesse Hayes, which is always a good time. Jesse is a part of the TBB fam, who knows he may even play with us at some point, we have discussed it before but ya know life be lifing like that sometimes lmao.

Today's edit features a film near and dear to my heart, it's mostly just 80s isms and like a complete philosophical nonsense that serves as a punk rock memento capturing the nuances of the 1980s punk ideologies. I won't tell you the movie unless you ask! So guess ask whatever, but this one y'all should def check out. I picked this one for Mando bc it's really his kinda film in general, not sure he knows what it is so, everyone watching ... Let's see if Mando knows it lol (we can update y'all after the band practice lol)

Last week recap - we had a good sesh last week, saw a bunch of homies at the local jawn nd Ryan Clements a legendary level skateboarding hero.

Ryan has roots with the original @spottampa along side legendary pro and founder @brianschaefer

He has since founded @theboardr def check out the Tampa shop if u can

Ryan held a critical role in establishing the Tampa Pro and Tampa AM as world premier skateboarding events. launching the 90's transition from vert to street and built community connections that forged pathways for international skateboarders to get access to huge opportunities in the professional skateboarding world.

I mention this because history untold is history forgotten, and when trees forget their roots branches begin to fall.

Some of the clips are from my buddy Luke! He loves retro audio/ visual tech like we do and it's def a part of what we bonded over when we first became friends. Life is a journey, love is the vehicle we ride through the plains and pastures of passing time, as mountains turn to sand like the ever falling grains in the hourglass, together we will watch in awe, embracing in the glory of all that has ever been and that is to ever be.

Reflecting today on many things, all good, and with that a heart filled with excitement for the spoils of tomorrow.

Today, I want to announce Happy Birthday to our band mate @dianaturner.2023 (belated of course! Lol)

To talk a bit more about Diana, as we have not yet officially introduced her other than listing her in the bio, she is a singer songwriter from Atlanta that recently relocated here to Tampa bay. We connected over shared interests in music production and skateboarding in a shared friend setting. After getting to know each other I brought her into band practice and the team really enjoyed her enthusiasm, vibe and skills behind the mic.

We are really excited to officially announce her in the line up soon with some dedicated posts that will highlight the band members and rolls soon.

On top of that, we as a band would like to send a special thanks to everyone we have been bumping into recently, we have really been having a blast seeing our friends from all over the place at the skateparks when we go and try to collect some clips on practice days. We have some clips featuring these friends coming soon so keep ya eyes peeled lol.

Aye it's been another week of fun over here at the studio, lmao the TBB players know how to have a good time frfr.

It was a busy week for all of us, and I'm sure y'all too with the whole Valentine's day stuff.

I think it's a good time to reflect on that side of things for a bit, with all things considered. For us especially there are so many situations, complexities and serendipity to it all it can really boggle the mind. But from all that the only concrete guiding truth is that love is key to making people more than just animals. When our pets and animals in nature show love, we immediately identify it as such unanimously and immediately anthropomorphize the situation.

This is I think important to understanding a critical truth about love and it is that the only grand prize in life is enlightenment that can only be achieved when love is properly embraced, understood, learned and communicated back into the cycle of progress to develop the collective unconscious.

With that I think our minds are specifically designed to yearn for it without even knowing what it is, to see it all around us, in the inanimate and the unwilling. To a degree it's a heart breaking process as it can have severe consequences when navigated improperly. It can also feel a bit sad to think humans are so thirsty for love that they mistake it for attention, likes, and forced environments or "human perspectives".

But with that a silver lining, knowing that it is so inherently important and with such significant magnitude relative to the human experience as a whole, that we must honor it always above all else to actually be human.

Another week wrapped up with a neat lil bow jk

Last week was really good, between having a good skate sesh with the dudes and having a really fantastic productive practice really set me up for good energy for the week.

Honestly thank you ToasterBathBomb krew for putting in that work and like just being authentic and fun. I can not express how much it really means to get to make great art with people that are not just there for the clout, cool kid points or any self serving social political shit.

Our weekly sesh is a whole vibe that focuses on authentic art, from skating, filming, making music and even painting. It really helps keep the big sad way out in the bay, even if I can see it on the horizon.

This week's reflection lines up with this lil edit in a special way for me. The movie clips come from one of my favorite @cronenberg_david films (he has soo many so please do check out his films) I don't want to spill the beans on which movie it comes from yet, so please feel free to drop your guesses in the comment lol 😂🤓

I will describe a bit of what's happening so there is a better opportunity for everyone to understand this nexus I am cryptically clawing at. In the scene the character in focus makes a projectile weapon out of discarded animal bones that were collected after eating a meal.

I will let you draw your own conclusions of how that lines up with the music I selected for this reel.

Last thing just to put it all together, we as a band love film and photography, it is a big influence on our art. In fact Mando's fav way to get the jam going is to put in wierdo movies and we watch them together and play.

Our goal with all this is just like a video diary of how the world looks and feels through the eyes of a toaster bath bomb choir ghost! If ur feeling spooky and wanna spook out with the coolest kats in safety harbor give us a holler nd come kick it.

Last but not least, I wanted to get the word out there about the Heart Attack Man and Slow Joy show at crowbar Apr 14 2026, we are thinking about rolling out that way for it so we hope you do to! Let's all link and show them how we do it in ybor.

Let's see if y'all can guess where these fantastic movie clips came from lol.

The use of this imagery for the subliminal level concept is really contextually significant, but I will leave it up to you to make the connections 😜

A few things to reflect on this week, and I'm def putting in my hours running the ever spinning rat wheel of an anxious artist brain lol but irl much of it is really good stuff to take in and find the nourishing aspect of.

Mostly I want to reflect on friends, fun and the deeper side of our social experiences. Here in this reel, I feel like a lot of what I want to communicate is captured.

I want to communicate the healing power of a meaningful culture based society. Today's world is so dividing and competitive, it can be kinda exhausting.

With that message I reflect on the past week which was really a breath of fresh air. First started off great with a fun skate sesh with the band, followed up by a great jam sesh. It was dope having our skate buddy Ben showing up to chill for practice, having friends just hang at the studio with us really warms my heart.

The end of the week really plays a huge part in my reflection too. Last week as many of you were there, was Edgar's b day celebration. It was super fun and I was so hyped to see my dude having a blast! Edgar has been my music friend for many years, between playing together occasionally and then going to shows, he has been one of those friends that seems to hold on to even the most slippery of us, such as myself. He manages to reach out to me at times I don't think he knows how much it's been a huge help. Sometimes it's just hard for me to get out of my head.

It was also super awesome to see Atomictreehouse play and chill with the Toe Knife homies. I feel like it was a great full moon celebration for everyone, thanks Edgar!

We may have drank too much, hell I know I did but I am recovered now lmao. Rn to just wrap it all up my heart is full, I am very proud to have friends like this in my life even if sometimes I'm kinda a ghost. I hope that my studio becomes a home to more friends and homies in the scene, and nights like that help me believe in it.
